"Mospilan" is an insecticide developed in 1989 in Japan. This product is suitable for industrial use and for private gardens. Its key advantages include high efficacy, affordability, compatibility with other chemicals, and long-lasting protection. However, to achieve the desired results, it is important to use the product correctly.
Active ingredient and dosage form
The product is produced as a soluble powder. The active ingredient is acetamiprid, a neonicotinoid. It is sold in 500-gram sachets. Mospilan has ovicidal and insecticidal effects. It also acts through both stomach and contact.
Mechanism of action and what it is used for
The active ingredient penetrates all plant organs and spreads freely. The composition affects parasites even in areas not treated with Mospilan. The substance affects the pests through direct contact with their bodies and when they consume the treated crops.
The active ingredient in Mospilan damages the parasites' nervous system. Within an hour of spraying, they lose activity, followed by paralysis. The pests die within 24 hours. The composition affects larvae, eggs, and adult insects, but its effectiveness depends on the pest species. The protective effect lasts for 2-3 weeks.
The main advantages of Mospilan include the following:
- the ability to cope with parasites even on untreated areas of plants;
- absence of resistance – this is due to a new mechanism of action;
- high biological activity even at elevated air temperatures;
- absence of phytotoxicity;
- low level of danger for people, animals and bees;
- compatibility with many pesticides;
- preservation of properties during temperature fluctuations.

Disadvantages of the drug
The main disadvantages of Mospilan include the following:
- Prohibition of use in water protection zones;
- cannot be used during the flowering period;
- significant reduction in efficiency if temperature conditions are not observed during processing;
- unsuitability of the working fluid even for a short period of storage.
Terms of Use
To ensure that the product is effective, it is important to adhere to the following rules:
- use water at room temperature - it should be +20-25 degrees;

Mospilan granules can also be used dry. For this purpose, it can be scattered over the soil surface. However, it is important to ensure the treatment area is protected from wind, sun, and precipitation.
The product can be used to control the following pests:
- Colorado potato beetles – use 5-8 grams of the solution per 10 liters of water. Use 5 liters of the solution per 100 square meters. To prevent pest attacks, you can apply a pre-planting treatment to the tubers. Reduce the concentration of the solution by approximately 1.5 times.
- Whitefly insecticide is used primarily for treating greenhouse crops and indoor plants. To control the pest, mix 1 gram of the product with 2 liters of water.
- Thrips – a standard Mospilan solution is used to control these pests. To prepare it, mix 2.5 grams of the solution with 10 liters of clean water. This amount is sufficient for treating 2-2.5 acres of land.
- Mealybugs – to kill this pest, it's important to use a highly concentrated solution. To do this, add 15 grams of powder to 1 liter of water and mix thoroughly. Then add water to make a total of 10 liters of working solution.
