What is included in the composition and existing forms of release
Cypermethrin is a colorless, viscous liquid with a faint, characteristic odor. It is practically insoluble in water, but it dissolves well in organic solvents (methanol, acetone, ethyl acetate). It is resistant to ultraviolet light.
To combat harmful insects, products are used in the form of a concentrated emulsion (25% cypermethrin concentration). These products are packaged in glass bottles or plastic containers (0.1-1 liter capacity).
Purpose and operating principle
Cypermethrin is a neurotoxic poison. When absorbed through insects' skin, it disrupts nerve impulse transmission, causing organ paralysis and death. The solution remains on treated surfaces for a long time because it is resistant to ultraviolet light and high temperatures. The protective effect lasts for one and a half to two weeks. The product also repels insects and rodents.
These products are most often used to protect plants from stem flies, grain beetles, cereal aphids, Colorado potato beetles, and leaf rollers. Indoors, they are used to control bedbugs, mosquitoes, ticks, and cockroaches.
Terms of Use
When processing premises
To combat parasites in rooms, use a special product called "Cypermethrin 25," which is diluted with clean water. To obtain a solution, thoroughly mix the product, observing the application rates.

Before preparing the working solution, it is recommended to assess the area of the room, the extent of the infestation, and the number of insects. The prepared solution should not be stored; the treatment should be used within 6-8 hours of dilution. The treated room should be sealed for 4-7 hours.
Then the surfaces are wiped with a soap and soda solution, and the rooms are ventilated.
When treating open areas
To kill harmful insects in recreation areas, courtyards, and garden plots, dilute the product with water according to the instructions. To prolong the residual effect of the product, add PVA glue to the working solution (at a concentration of 10 ml of glue per liter of working solution), stirring vigorously.
The resulting solution is carefully sprayed over the area, paying particular attention to the insects' habitats (especially fences on all sides, building windows, door frames, adjacent vegetation, waterlogged areas of soil, areas with standing water).
Safety precautions
Cypermethrin-based products are toxic, so when preparing the solution and spraying surfaces, wear personal protective equipment (a respirator, safety glasses, rubber gloves and boots, and protective clothing). Perform the treatment in the absence of children and animals, with the windows open. In living areas, it is important to carefully cover dishes and food with plastic wrap.
During spraying, do not remove protective equipment, drink, smoke, or eat. After spraying, wash your hands with soap and wash your face. Symptoms of poisoning include weakness, vomiting, headache, an unpleasant taste in the mouth, and excessive salivation. First aid for poisoning: If the solution comes into contact with the skin, wipe away the liquid with a tissue and wash the affected area with soap and water. It is recommended to leave the area for fresh air and seek medical attention.
Is compatibility possible?
Manufacturers permit the use of cypermethrin in tank mixes with other pesticides. However, mixing the product with alkaline pesticides is prohibited.
Storage conditions
Insecticides should be stored in a separate, well-ventilated area. Do not store insecticides together with food, drinking water, or animal feed. The working mixture should not be stored; any unused solution should be discarded. It is recommended to store the product in its original packaging.
What to replace it with
Manufacturers produce a variety of products whose active ingredient is cypermethrin:
- Cyperus is used to control a wide range of agricultural pests. The product is characterized by high initial toxicity and a long protective period;
- The concentrated emulsion "Tsipi Plus" is designed for locust control and pest protection of winter wheat and apple trees. It acts quickly on insects and provides a long period of protection.
- Biotsifen is available as a powder packaged in 5-20 kg bags. It effectively kills red house ants, cockroaches, bed bugs, flies, and fleas.
The insecticide "Cypertrin" is used to control cockroaches, flies, bedbugs, and ants in industrial and residential buildings. The product effectively kills mosquitoes in their natural habitats, including open, stagnant bodies of water. The solution is also used to clear areas of ticks.
When using cypermethrin, spray. For effective control of pests, pay particular attention to hard-to-reach areas (baseboards, behind furniture, and crevices). For preventative purposes, repeat treatment is recommended every 2-4 weeks.
