"Coragen" is an effective product that helps control many types of pests—lepidoptera, diptera, and coleoptera. It effectively kills moths, codling moths, Colorado potato beetles, and other pests. The product is widely used to protect onions, peppers, cabbage, and eggplants from a variety of dangerous insects. To ensure effective use, it's important to follow the instructions carefully.
Active ingredient and dosage form
The active ingredient of the product is chlorantraniliprole. One liter of this insecticide contains 200 grams of the active ingredient. It is available as a highly concentrated, water-based suspension solution.
What is it used for and how does it work?
The insecticide's active ingredient belongs to the chemical class of anthranilamides. The concentration of the substance is 20%. The active ingredient is distributed throughout the plant translaminarly, through the epidermal cells of the stem and through the xylem vessels. This ensures the active ingredient penetrates new shoots.
When the substance enters the insect's body through the cuticle or stomach, calcium reserves are removed from muscle tissue. This causes the parasite to weaken, stop feeding, and stop moving. Ultimately, it dies. Depending on the parasite species, this process takes 1-3 days.
"Koragen" is produced as a water-based suspension concentrate. It is sold in plastic containers of 0.2 or 50 milliliters. It is also available in 1- or 5-liter containers.
The main advantages of the insecticide include the following:
- unique mechanism of action;
- reliable control of lepidopteran insects;
- high efficiency against Colorado potato beetles;
- fast acting;
- long protective period – lasts 34 weeks;
- equally effective against adult parasites, larvae, imago, and caterpillars;
- possibility of application in anti-resistance programs and integrated protection systems;
- possibility of use in tank mixtures with low concentrations of active ingredients;
- resistance to washout by precipitation;
- high efficiency even in adverse weather conditions;
- safety for beneficial insects, including honeybees;
- low toxicity for humans and animals.
Terms of Use
The product is available as a water-based suspension concentrate. It is stable and low-viscosity. It dissolves easily in water. Furthermore, the working solution does not clog sprayer nozzles. It is stable and non-volatile. Furthermore, the liquid formulation does not produce excessive foam.

The working solution must be prepared on the day of application. To do this, add it to a tank half-filled with water. The ingredients can be mixed with any type of stirrer. Application rates depend on the crop type:
- Apple trees: For treating these crops, it is recommended to use 150-175 milliliters of the product per hectare. However, it is important to time the application correctly. Caterpillars inside the fruit do not come into contact with the product. The first treatment is carried out during the insects' active flight phase, during mating and egg laying.
- Tomatoes: Apply 150 milliliters of the product per hectare. To protect crops from cutworms, two treatments are necessary. The first application is made at the egg-laying stage, and the second, 18-21 days later. This will provide protection for 40 days.
- Corn – apply 150 milliliters of the product per hectare. To prevent the development of fungal diseases, it's important to monitor for pests. "Coragen" should be used to control the second generation of pests, at the initial stage of mass egg laying.
- Potatoes – the application rate in this case is 60 milliliters per hectare. "Coragen" can be used throughout the entire Colorado potato beetle infestation. It is best applied during the egg-laying stage and before the larvae emerge.
Precautionary measures
The product is highly toxic to bees and fish. It is classified as a Class I hazard for these species. Therefore, when using Coragen, please follow these recommendations:
- treat plants in the morning or evening;
- wind speed should not exceed 1-2 meters per second;
- the border protection zone for bees is at least 4-5 kilometers;
- The flight time limit for bees should be 7-8 days.

Apiary owners must be notified 4-5 days prior to treatment. The product is prohibited for use in the sanitary zone around fishery waters within 500 meters of the flood line at maximum floodwater level.
What can it be combined with?
Koragen combines well with many pesticides that require similar application times. However, it's important to evaluate the compatibility of the tank-mix components. To do this, mix the products in small quantities. This should be done in a separate transparent container. If heating, color change, sediment, or gas formation occurs, it's best to discontinue the tank-mix.
How and how long to store
The insecticide should be stored in a dry, dark place. It should be kept out of reach of children and pets. The product has a shelf life of 3 years.
