To increase crop yields and protect crops from weeds, you can use products that combine the properties of a herbicide and a desiccant. Reglonom Super is most often sprayed on potatoes, carrots, and sunflowers. Drying the green mass simplifies harvesting and removes weeds. It also prevents the development and spread of certain diseases (gray mold and potato blight).
What is included in the composition, purpose and dosage form
Reglon Super herbicide is available as an aqueous solution packaged in 10-liter plastic canisters. Its active ingredient is diquat, which acts as both an herbicide and a desiccant. The solution is used to kill annual weeds in gardens, vineyards, and ornamental and vegetable crops.
The solution is used as a desiccant to dry the above-ground parts of cultivated plants, which is important when crops ripen unevenly. Pre-harvest desiccation of plants also significantly simplifies harvesting.
Operating principle
The working solution is quickly absorbed by the leaves and stems of weeds, destroying cells and promoting plant desiccation. It is recommended to apply the solution on a cloudy day or in the evening, as diquat converts to hydrogen peroxide when exposed to ultraviolet light.
Instructions for use
When using the drug, it is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and consumption rates.
| Processing object | Types of weeds | Consumption rates | Features of application |
| Potato | cereals, annual dicotyledons | 2 | The plantings are processed 2-3 days before the mass germination of the crop |
| Carrot | 2 | The beds are sprayed 2-3 days before the mass emergence of carrot seedlings |
To ensure effective treatment, it is important to take into account the density of germinated weeds and weather conditions.
If Reglon is used as a desiccant, it's important to remember that the effect becomes apparent 5-7 days after application. The active ingredient remains active at any temperature. The product is not washed off by rain or irrigation water for 15-20 minutes after application.

Precautionary measures
This product is classified as hazard class 3 for bees and hazard class 2 for humans. Therefore, when preparing the working solution and spraying plants, take the following precautions:
- all work is carried out using personal protective equipment (rubber gloves and shoes, respirator, safety glasses, special clothing);
- It is strictly forbidden to remove protective equipment, drink, smoke and eat while working;
- Work is carried out in windless weather.
If the drug comes into contact with an open area of the body, the affected skin should be washed with soapy water, and the mucous membranes should be washed with clean water for 10-15 minutes.

Is compatibility possible?
The manufacturer does not recommend tank mixing Reglon with other products (pesticides, insecticides, fungicides), as the application times for these products do not always coincide. Concomitant use of the herbicide and urea or ammonium nitrate is permitted. When using Reglon as a desiccant on potato crops, a tank mix with the fungicide Shirlan can be used.
How and how long can it be stored?
Separate, dry, ventilated areas are designated for storage. Food, feed, and animal feed should not be stored in the same area. Ideally, the product should be stored in tightly sealed original packaging. The shelf life is three years from the date of manufacture. The herbicide maintains its effectiveness when stored at temperatures between 0°C and +35°C.

Substitute products
Manufacturers produce various diquat-based products that exhibit herbicide and desiccant properties.
- Golden Ring's water solution is rain-resistant. Applying it to pea, potato, and sunflower crops reduces harvest losses and prevents the development and spread of diseases.
- The drug "Diquaterra Mega" helps solve the problem of uneven and slow ripening of legumes, sunflowers, and rapeseed, and promotes the drying out of weeds.
When using Reglon, it's important to treat crops promptly, as this can reduce yield. If the product is used as a desiccant, consider the crop's leaf development stage. The larger the leaf blade, the higher the application rate. Avoid allowing any liquid to run off onto the soil.
