Many gardeners are interested in how to grow the King of the Market tomato. Agricultural experts believe that hybrid varieties are best, as they are characterized by high resistance to adverse conditions, excellent yields, and a long shelf life.
What is the King of the Market tomato?
Hybrid tomato varieties are in great demand among gardeners. However, hybrids also have their drawbacks:
- not as juicy in taste as other tomato varieties;
- You cannot collect hybrid seeds.

One of the most popular hybrid vegetables is the tomato known as King of the Market. This variety was developed early this century and immediately attracted the interest of farmers and gardeners. Due to this increased interest, producers launched a series under this name; today, there are approximately 13 varieties.
The very first tomatoes of this type fully met customer expectations. Indeed, they were recognized as the "kings" of the vegetable market. They excelled in yield, resistance to various diseases and environmental conditions, and shelf life.

Soon, King No. 2 was developed—the same series, with corresponding characteristics and descriptions—but it has one difference. Fruits from No. 2 are ideal for canning due to their elongated cylindrical shape and light weight. No. 1 and the F1 King of the Market II tomato were typically used for further processing and tomato products. However, they were also often eaten fresh.

After #3, all hybrids became purely salad varieties: they are tastier and have a different shape. #5 produces small fruits, weighing no more than 200 g. The remaining hybrids compete with each other in terms of size. They have one thing in common: they have the same unique properties that all representatives of this tomato have. Despite the fact that the King or Queen of the Market has many varieties, most of this tomato's characteristics are still the same for all hybrids. Let's take a closer look.

Characteristics and cultivation of the variety
Main characteristics:
- All Korol tomatoes are resistant to diseases common to other tomatoes of this variety. They are immune to verticillium wilt, fusarium wilt, and other diseases.
- Pests rarely attack tomatoes.
- Tomatoes can be stored for a long time and transported over long distances.
- The fruits have dense flesh and strong skin, which makes it possible to preserve tomatoes.
- The shape of the Tsar of the Market fruits is almost perfect and has no ribs.
- The yield of each bush is about 92%, which is a very high figure.
- They do not react to temperature changes and adverse weather conditions.
Tomatoes are primarily intended for outdoor cultivation: varieties 1 through 6, as well as variety 7, are determinate. The plants grow to a height of no more than 80 cm. There are also indeterminate hybrids (varieties 8, 9, 11, and 12), which can be grown both in greenhouses and outdoors.

Farmers who purchased the seeds loved the tomato. Everyone who has planted this variety leaves positive reviews of the Korol Rynok tomato. There are virtually no negative reviews. Everyone is satisfied with purchasing the seeds and planting them in their garden plots. This is despite the high price. This variety is grown in many parts of Russia, primarily due to its low maintenance.
