The mid-late tomato "Sicilian Pepper" is designed for outdoor cultivation. This variety is characterized by high yields.
Advantages of the variety
Sicilian Pepper tomatoes are plants with unlimited growth. During the growing season, the bush reaches a height of 2 meters. This tomato is suitable for growing in open ground or under temporary plastic shelters.

Characteristic:
- The variety is mid-late, with 115-120 days passing from emergence to fruiting.
- The juicy fruits with dense pulp, as seen in the photo, resemble peppers in shape.
- The color of the tomatoes is deep red.
- The fruit weight reaches 150 g.
- The commercial yield of the variety is 4.5-5 kg per bush.
In cooking, tomatoes are used for canning, freezing, drying, and eating fresh.
Agricultural technology of cultivation
Seeds for seedlings are sown in mid-March. To do this, place the seeds in prepared containers with moistened soil mixture at a depth of 1.5 cm. To ensure uniform germination, the seeds are treated with an aqueous solution of potassium permanganate before sowing.
After sowing, the container is covered with plastic film, which is removed after the seedlings emerge. For proper seedling development, it is important to maintain an air temperature of 22–23°C.

Seedlings need to be watered regularly with warm water and fertilized with complex fertilizers to stimulate growth and strengthen the plant. When the first true leaf forms, transplanting is performed.
Plants are planted under plastic cover or in open ground at 50-55 days of age (early to mid-May). Before planting the bushes in their permanent location, the seedlings are hardened off for one week. To do this, the plants are placed outdoors, gradually increasing the time from 20 minutes to 2 hours.
It is recommended to form bushes into a single stem. To achieve this, side shoots are removed.
Recommendations from gardeners
The Sicilian Pepper tomato variety, which has excellent taste and can be grown in any conditions, is popular among tomato connoisseurs.

Inna Zhuravleva, 46, Sochi: "I'm passionate about growing tomatoes, so I often choose new varieties. The description of the Sicilian pepper caught my eye. I planted the tomatoes in open ground. The plant really does grow indefinitely; you only need to remove any excess shoots. Most importantly, the plants didn't get sick and produced fruit until the first frost. The tomatoes are bright, with an intense red color, and they're delicious."
Valentina Egorova, 51, Belaya Kholunitsa: "I got these Sicilian pepper tomatoes from a friend. She gave me some ripe tomatoes to use as seeds and shared some growing tips. I planted the vines in a greenhouse and in the garden. In the greenhouse, I was able to harvest the first crop a little faster. The vines from the garden turned out to be more flavorful. The only drawback is that at the end of the season, when the weather gets cooler, the tomatoes' growth and ripening slows."

Alexander Evdokimov, 61, Nizhnekamsk: "I read about the Sicilian Pepper variety in a magazine and decided to grow it in a greenhouse. It's a good tomato, and the plant doesn't require much attention. Without any complicated care, I was able to harvest 3.5-4 kg of bright red fruit with an attractive appearance and smooth surface. I especially liked the sun-dried tomatoes."
Antonika Lavrova, 49, Krasnodar: "I grew Sicilian peppers from seeds. I made the seedlings myself and transplanted the plants under plastic. Over the course of the season, they grew so much that the greenhouse seemed like an impenetrable jungle. Of course, this was due to neglecting the care instructions. The plant needs to be trained into a single stem and any extra shoots must be removed. I'll definitely keep this in mind next season. That's why the yield was low; I only got about 3 kg of tomatoes from the plant. The brightly colored tomatoes are delicious and perfect for canning."
