Description of the Puzatiki tomato, advantages and disadvantages of the variety

Gardeners are interested in how to grow the Puzatiki tomato, which they've read reviews about online. This tomato is a new variety. It was added to the State Register at the end of 2014. Not all gardeners are familiar with the variety, let alone the specifics of growing it in their gardens. The new variety offers improved characteristics and is generating increased interest among gardeners who are prone to experimentation.

Characteristics of the variety

Among the wide variety of vegetable crops, tomatoes occupy a leading position. The early-ripening variety, Puzatiki (the variety's characteristics and description speak of its many beneficial qualities), is considered one of the best early-ripening varieties. The growing season lasts from 85 to 96 days.

Let's look at the description and main characteristics. This plant is an early-ripening, high-yielding variety. The bushes are indeterminate and reach a height of up to 150 cm. The leaves are evenly distributed, and the root system is robust. The first leaves are small, dark green, and simple. Each fruiting cluster can produce three to five tomatoes. They are highly productive, yielding over 10 kg of select tomatoes per square meter.

Each tomato weighs between 0.25 and 0.30 kg. The fruits are rounded and pear-shaped, with ribbed stems. Ripe tomatoes have a muted red hue.

Description of tomato

An important organoleptic characteristic of Puzatikov: tender, fleshy, juicy vegetables with a small number of seeds inside. These vegetables are suitable for both fresh consumption and canning. The skin is thick but not tough, protecting each fruit from cracking.

The vegetable has a pleasant taste: rich and moderately sweet. It doesn't have a sour aftertaste or wateriness. Its high natural sugar content makes it suitable for children.

Salad with tomatoes

This variety is suitable for any climate zone in the country. The breeders guarantee successful tomato harvests in open ground, greenhouses, and temporary shelters.

The main advantages of the variety include:

  • resistance to periodic seasonal temperature fluctuations;
  • high yield, approximately 4.5 kg per bush;
  • resistance to fungal infections, in particular fusarium;
  • excellent taste;
  • the vegetables are large.

But besides the advantages, there are also some disadvantages:

  • high-quality preventive measures aimed at destroying blossom-end rot are needed;
  • Good lighting is required throughout the growing season, as even a slight decrease in light affects development, reducing the yield.

Tomato seeds

Seedlings that are 60 days old are planted in the soil. The soil should be warmed to 16°C at the time of planting. Three to four plants are placed per square meter. Ash and a complete tomato fertilizer are added to the planting holes. Seven days before planting, the holes are watered with Fitosporin. After a couple of weeks, the plants are fed with solutions containing a high ammonia content.

Planting tomatoes

Watering after replanting is carried out after assessing the moisture content of the upper soil layers and the air temperature. If the temperature drops by 10°C, watering is stopped completely. One should not neglect loosening the soil the day after watering.

Reviews from gardeners

Nina, Rostov region:

"I decided to plant the Puzatiki tomato variety only after reading reviews on the website. The tomatoes grew into wide, pear-shaped tomatoes. The fruits are meaty and have an excellent flavor. They store well, don't spoil or cake. The plants bear fruit for a long time; we enjoyed the harvest until mid-September."

Anatoly, Omsk region:

"I've been growing vegetables for years, but I'm especially particular about tomatoes. I had pot-bellied tomatoes growing in my garden for a couple of years, but to be honest, I wasn't thrilled with them. They're large, but there aren't many of them. They taste good, without any sourness."

Irina, Krasnodar Krai:

"We've been growing this variety in our greenhouse for a couple of years now. I chose it after reading other people's reviews. The vegetables are a bit large and the taste is a bit bland. But I think that's my fault, because I didn't feed or fertilize the plants. Pot-bellied ones remain a favorite, and I don't want to change them for others. I'll try to correct my mistakes and enjoy this delicious, sweet variety."
