The Radunitsa tomato is an orange-colored tomato with distinctive appearance and flavor. This variety is highly productive and suitable for both open-field and greenhouse cultivation.

Benefits of Tomatoes

Radunitsa tomatoes are distinguished by their large, golden-orange fruits. The variety's characteristics and description indicate an average fruiting period of 115-120 days.

During the growing season, the bush reaches a height of 160 cm. The stems are not very branched, the leaves are shaped like potato leaves and are intensely green. Fruit set is independent of growing conditions.

The first inflorescence appears at the level of the 7th-9th leaf, with subsequent flower stalks spaced at intervals of 3 leaves. Each cluster produces 4-5 large fruits, weighing 200-250 g. Some tomatoes can reach a weight of 350 g. Tomato yields reach 3.5 kg per plant.

Depending on growing conditions, the variety yields 11 kg per square meter of open ground, and 13 kg per square meter of greenhouse. The tomatoes are shaped like a flattened pear or a rocket.

Unripe tomatoes are green with a distinctive spot near the stem. Ripe tomatoes are yellow. A horizontal cut reveals 4-6 chambers containing seeds. The tomatoes are medium-firm, with thin, soft skin. The flesh is sweet.

It contains a small number of seeds. This complicates the collection of seed material for cultivation in the following season. In terms of technical parameters, the seeds are classified as Class 1 quality, which accounts for 99% of germination.

The fruits contain increased amounts of dry matter and sugars. Tomatoes are recommended for inclusion in baby and dietary nutrition. In cooking, the fruits are used fresh, in juices, and in various dishes.

Vegetable growers' reviews indicate that this salad-type variety can be grown both in open ground and greenhouses. The fruits withstand long-distance transportation well and retain their flavor for a long time.

Cultivation techniques

Sow seeds for seedlings 50-60 days before the expected date of planting in the ground in a permanent location. Before planting, treat the seeds with an aloe vera solution.

To speed up the germination process and fruit formation, it is recommended to treat the plants with special preparations.

Make 1-cm-deep furrows in the containers with the substrate, spaced 3 cm apart. After planting the seeds, water them with warm water.

For normal development of sprouts, it is necessary to constantly maintain the temperature at +23…+25°C.

After the second true leaf has formed, transplant the seedlings into individual containers. Peat pots are used for this purpose, and the seedlings are then transplanted to their permanent location.

When planting in the ground, space 3-4 bushes per 1 m². Plants are trained on 1-2 stems and tied to a support. Trellis are most often used to secure the branches and lower tiers of the bushes. To increase yield and reduce the ripening period of fruits, it is recommended to remove excess shoots.

The Radunitsa variety requires a regular watering schedule and responds favorably to complex fertilizers. Care includes periodic soil loosening, timely watering, and weed control.
