Cultivation techniques

The seedlings are placed in containers or pots with prepared soil, burying the seeds 1.5 cm deep. The soil is lightly compacted and sprayed with warm water. The containers are then covered with plastic wrap until the seedlings emerge.

Growing seedlings requires maintaining a temperature of +22…+23°C. After germination, the temperature is lowered to +15…+17°C, and after a week, increased to +20…+23°C.

When two true leaves have formed, the seedlings are transplanted into individual peat pots and fed with a complex fertilizer. They are transplanted to their permanent location when seven leaves and one flower stalk have formed.

It's recommended to plant 3 bushes per square meter. Add wood ash and 1 tablespoon of superphosphate to each hole. After planting, water the plant with warm water and tie it to a support.

The bush is formed into a single stem, removing side shoots. Fertilizing with mineral fertilizers containing potassium and phosphorus is recommended every two weeks.

The Russian Bogatyr variety is disease-resistant. For preventative measures, regular watering and adequate ventilation are recommended. Periodic loosening of the soil will help prevent root rot.

When signs of late blight appear, treat the bushes with copper-containing products. Biological pests can be prevented by periodically inspecting the plant and using topical treatments and products.
