The pink-fruited "Appetizing" tomato is a favorite among many vegetable growers and lives up to its name. It takes approximately 115 days from germination to harvest.
What is the Appetizing tomato?
Characteristics and description of the variety:
- The plant is of the determinate type, which means it limits its growth.
- In open ground it grows to a height of no more than 1 m, in greenhouses it can reach 170 cm.
- The leaves are medium sized and bright green.
- Ripe fruits are bright pink in color with blurred stripes at the stem.
- The fruits are large, weighing about 500 g.
- The fruits have an almost perfectly round shape.
- Light ribbing at the top.
- The pulp is grainy and juicy.
- The fruits have a sweet taste and contain 6-7 seed chambers.
- The skin is thin, not rough.

Initially, breeders created the variety exclusively as a salad variety, but later it began to be actively used by gardeners for secondary processing, for example, for making juices and tomato paste.
Despite unfavorable weather conditions or simply a cold summer, the plants produce a good harvest. The yield is 8-9 kg/m².
How to Grow Tomatoes
Tomatoes of this variety can be grown outdoors, in temporary plastic greenhouses, and in unheated greenhouses. To obtain beautiful and juicy fruits, it is necessary to follow agricultural practices and regulations. Sow seeds for seedlings in late March. The use of growth stimulants is almost mandatory.

Seedlings should be transplanted when they have two true leaves. Since daylight hours are very short at this time of year, it's worth extending them with special agrolamps. Seedlings also need to be ventilated and fed. Hardening off the seedlings before planting is essential to ensure they are less susceptible to disease after transplantation and better able to tolerate the difference in day and night temperatures.
Planting should only be done in holes fertilized with mineral fertilizer, as the soil is severely depleted after spring frosts. When planting, keep in mind that this variety's bushes are not very compact, and no more than four plants can be planted per square meter. Since the Appetizing tomato variety does not tolerate overwatering, drip irrigation is recommended.

The soil around the root system should be mulched with rotted organic matter or straw. Before the first flower clusters form, the plant should be pinched and its leaves removed, as it tends to overgrow.
The Appetizing tomato needs to be tied up because it overloads itself with fruit. If this is not done, the stem or brushes may break. It is also recommended to apply nitrogen fertilizer once before flowering.

In high temperatures, it's essential to cover tomatoes with white non-woven material, otherwise the flowers will stop pollinating. To speed up ripening, remove nearly ripe tomatoes to allow the remaining ones to ripen. If you're growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, ensure they have adequate ventilation.

Reviews of the Appetizing tomato yield are positive.
Vegetable growers note:
- delicate skin;
- sweet taste;
- interesting color;
- rapid ripening;
- general purpose.
Disadvantages include poor transportability, uncompact bushes, and fruit cracking during prolonged rainfall. Tomatoes are susceptible to late blight, which slows plant growth and fruit ripening. To combat the disease, plants must be sprayed with insecticides.
