Experienced gardeners strive to diversify their plantings and select new and interesting tomato varieties. One such variety is the Goldilocks tomato. This is a very interesting variety, extremely attractive in appearance. But that's not its only advantage. Goldilocks tomatoes are very tasty and suitable for a variety of dishes, including canning.
General characteristics of the variety and description
Many people are familiar with the cherry tomato variety. They are popular due to their very small size. These red tomatoes are used in preserves for the winter and in many salads. The Zlatovlaska variety is a close relative of the cherry tomato. They have many similarities. Most importantly, both varieties produce small fruits that grow in clusters on a single branch.
Goldilocks is distinguished primarily by its unusual color. The tomatoes are small and golden-hued. They are small, but there are many of them. The plant produces fruit abundantly throughout the warm season. Goldilocks is suitable for growing outdoors or in a greenhouse.
According to the tomato's characteristics, this variety is early maturing. It can take as little as 90 days from sowing the seeds to harvesting the first fruits. However, when planting this variety, it's important to keep in mind that it's indeterminate, meaning the bush can grow to a very large size. Gardeners harvest up to 3.5 kg of tomatoes from a single plant. In a greenhouse, the plant can reach up to 2 m in height. The bush is covered with abundant leaves.

A big advantage of this variety is the possibility of long-term storage and good transportability.
Goldilocks rarely gets sick, but this does not mean that preventative spraying against various diseases typical for nightshades is not necessary.
Tomatoes of this variety don't tolerate cold well. If planting in the central or northern parts of the country, it's best to grow them in a greenhouse. Only then will you be able to get a good harvest of small, golden tomatoes.

The description of the variety is as follows:
- tomatoes are small in size and the pulp has a medium density;
- the shape of the fruit is round, the surface is smooth;
- When fully ripe, Goldilocks turns golden yellow, sometimes with hints of red;
- A distinctive feature of this variety of tomatoes is the thin skin of the fruit;
- The pulp is juicy and sweet, but with a slight sourness.
These tomatoes are perfect for canning, salads, and hot dishes. Their unique appearance makes dishes with Goldilocks tomatoes a true centerpiece.
Small tomatoes grow on tall bushes. They are arranged in long clusters and ripen almost simultaneously, making harvesting very convenient. The fruits grow to a maximum of 100 g. A single bush can yield several kilograms of Goldilocks.

Growing recommendation
To ensure healthy plants that will bear fruit well, you need to prepare the soil. To do this, sow the seeds a couple of months before planting them in the ground, and then grow high-quality seedlings. Seeds germinate best under plastic. Maintaining a proper temperature regime is recommended. To obtain high-quality seedlings, temperatures should be at least 21°C.
A week before planting in the ground, the plants are hardened off. To do this, they are taken out into the open air from time to time.
Goldilocks produces large bushes, so plant no more than four per square meter. Care for the plants as usual. Water Goldilocks morning and evening, weed regularly, and fertilize. Fertilize the soil four times per season. Pinching out side shoots is essential. Goldilocks grows to a large size, so the bushes require support.
