Characteristics and description of the Brandy Pink tomato variety

The Brandy Pink tomato is a variety often used in salads due to its large fruit size and excellent flavor. This is the main reason many gardeners grow it in their gardens.

This tomato variety is intended for indoor planting in temperate climates. In southern regions, it can be grown outdoors.

Pink brandy has no main stem. Most gardeners consider successive shoots, called side shoots, to be the main stem. The plant's main stem is considered to be the one on which the first inflorescence forms.

Description of the variety

The characteristics and description of the variety are as follows:

• The leaves of this variety are green (somewhat reminiscent of potato leaves), smooth, with medium branching;

• the fruits are slightly flattened, with slight ribbing at the base, weighing from 250 to 450 g;
• the pulp of the fruit is juicy and soft, with a small number of seeds;
• the skin of the tomato is smooth, with a calm pink tint;
• Pink brandy tastes sweet.

This tomato variety is often used to make semi-finished products, including delicious tomato juice, paste, and homemade ketchup. Pink Brandy, like other varieties with unlimited growth, has its pros and cons. This variety definitely needs to be tied up, and in order for the tomato to bear fruit well, the bushes need to be formed.

At the same time, this variety produces a large harvest, which is collected as the fruit ripens. If the moisture level is insufficient, tomatoes begin to ripen quickly. Under stress, the plant tries to quickly shed the fruit, which absorbs most of the nutrients from the soil. Low moisture levels practically force the tomato to drop its newly formed ovaries.

Growing and caring for the variety

The rules for caring for this variety are similar to other methods for growing tomatoes that have no growth restrictions.

Pink brandy is a heat-loving plant, so it's often grown from seedlings. Seedlings should be transplanted into individual containers or pots after the first two strong leaves emerge. Caring for the tomato involves timely watering, fertilizing, and maintaining the right temperature during seedling growth.

These steps will help you grow strong seedlings that can be planted outdoors within 60 days. The recommended planting density is no more than 3 seedlings per square meter.

To ensure stability, plants are tied to stakes or stretched netting. To improve air circulation and prevent diseases that affect all nightshades, remove side shoots and dead leaves from the tomato plant down to the first cluster.

Tomatoes should be watered moderately, followed by loosening the top layer of soil. This process after watering will improve air circulation in the soil and prevent it from drying out. To improve root nutrition, hill up the plant's stems at the base.

The recommended growing temperature is 22 to 25°C with 70% humidity. This can be achieved by providing constant ventilation to the planted tomatoes.

Fertilize once every three weeks. Fertilizers should be selected based on the plant's growth stage. Harvesting can begin in late July and continue until the fruit is fully developed. A single bush yields 5-6 kg of fruit, and green tomatoes of this variety ripen well on their own.
