Cinderella tomatoes

Like all nightshade crops, tomatoes have their own growing requirements. Most often, the manufacturer provides a detailed description and specific recommendations regarding the timing of seed sowing and transplanting seedlings into open ground. This information is included on the seed packaging.

General characteristics of the variety

The Cinderella tomato variety is an early-ripening variety. It takes 90-95 days from the first shoots to full ripening. The bush is determinate, reaching a maximum height of 50-60 cm.

It has a spreading habit, with long branches and dense foliage. Vegetable growers recommend staking the stems to prevent them from breaking or drooping under the weight of the fruit. The foliage is regular in shape and bright green.

Three tomatoes

The Zolushka variety produces round fruits with a dense, smooth, and shiny skin. This prevents them from cracking and makes them resistant to hot weather. Each tomato averages 120 to 160 grams in weight. It has four chambers and numerous seeds. The flesh is firm and juicy. Its flavor is rated as excellent, with a slightly tart and spicy note.

The tomato inflorescence is typical. The first ovary forms after the 6th or 7th leaflet, and each subsequent ovary is formed after two leaves. Ripe fruits are bright red.

The Zolushka variety produces a high yield. Up to 15 kg of tomatoes can be harvested per square meter per season. The fruits store well for a long time. They can be picked even when ripe. They will ripen over time. However, for storage, they require a dry, well-ventilated area. The room temperature should not exceed 20°C. The dense and firm fruits of the Zolushka variety withstand long-distance transportation well.

Due to its early ripening, the plant is not susceptible to late blight and has good immunity to the tobacco mosaic virus and fungi such as alternaria.

All the characteristics of this nightshade variety indicate that the tomato is an unpretentious, disease-resistant, and high-yielding variety.

Growing seedlings

Sow tomato seeds for seedlings in early March. Mix peat, sand, and turf in a wooden seedling box, then moisten the soil thoroughly. Make small 1.5 cm deep holes in the soil. Place tomato seeds in these holes and cover with soil or clean peat.

It's important not to compact the soil too much when planting, so that the young shoots can easily and freely break the surface. After planting, water the seedlings with warm, settled water. Gardeners don't recommend using a watering can, as it can wash the seeds out of the soil. A sprayer is best.

Growing seedlings

Most experienced vegetable growers treat the seeds before planting. To ensure rapid germination and strong growth, a growth activator can be used. Soak the seeds in this solution for 30 minutes and then allow them to dry.

Alternatively, to disinfect seeds and protect against fungus, gardeners use a weak solution of potassium permanganate. The planting material is soaked in the solution for half an hour.

Place the seedling container in a room where the temperature does not drop below 20–23°C. Cover the seedlings with a thick film, but only until the small sprouts appear.

Seedlings are planted in open ground when the soil has warmed up and the risk of night frosts has passed.

The beds are dug in well and fertilized with complex minerals. Plants are spaced up to 50 cm apart, with 40 cm between rows. About 3-4 plants are placed per square meter. After planting, the holes are mulched and watered. After about a week, the plants need to be fertilized.

Caring for tomatoes involves regular watering, weeding the beds, hilling the holes and periodic fertilizing with mineral fertilizers.

The Zolushka variety has received only positive reviews. It's easy to grow and care for, and its quality remains consistently high.

I liked this tomato variety; it grows quickly, is quite resistant to temperature fluctuations, and I have never encountered any diseases. I only use an activator. BioGrow, it is very effective.
