The "Gold of the East" tomato is highly productive and resistant to nightshade diseases. Its tender, juicy orange fruits are rich in vitamins and beneficial components and are used fresh and for canning.

Advantages of the variety

The Zolot Vostoka tomato is suitable for cultivation in open ground and greenhouses. During the growing season, a bush grows to a height of 150-200 cm. This tomato has a medium ripening period, with fruiting occurring in 115-117 days.

The vitamin and mineral content of the fruit makes it suitable for dietary use. It contains fiber, organic acids, magnesium, iron, iodine, folate, and niacin.

When growing, the crop requires a proper light regime. When ripe, the tomatoes acquire an intense yellow color. They have an oval, slightly elongated shape, a smooth surface, juicy flesh, and a rich flavor.

Agricultural technology of cultivation

Tomatoes are planted in special containers with a drainage hole in the bottom to protect them from blackleg. The containers are filled with a soil mixture of sand and peat or a general-purpose growing medium.

Before planting, treat the seeds with an aqueous solution of potassium permanganate (aloe vera) and a growth stimulant. Place the seeds at a depth of 1 cm and water with warm water using a spray bottle. To ensure strong seedlings, space the seeds apart.

Cover the container with plastic wrap and place it in a well-lit area with regular air circulation. Maintain the temperature at 23°C until the first shoots emerge. After the first shoots emerge, remove the plastic wrap to prevent excess moisture evaporation.

Water periodically with a fine mist to avoid overwatering the seedlings. When one or two true leaves have formed, transplant the seedlings into individual pots.

Peat containers are used for this purpose, making it easy to transplant the bushes to their permanent location. To better adapt the seedlings to the new conditions, they can be hardened off from the moment the first shoots emerge.

The temperature is lowered to +8…+10°C at night and +15°C during the day for three days. Hardening is continued until transplanting into the greenhouse. Southern-facing plots are selected for growing tomatoes.

Tomatoes can be grown in the same spot for several years. The key to an excellent harvest is to enrich the soil with organic fertilizers.

Preparing the soil for seedlings requires loosening and enriching it with potassium and nitrogen fertilizers. Before planting, dig holes and water them thoroughly.

Cucumbers, zucchini, onions, and carrots are considered the best predecessors for tomatoes. It is recommended to plant 2-3 plants per square meter. Seedlings should be planted slightly deeper than they were growing in the greenhouse.
