Description of the tomato Elya
Characteristics and description of the variety:
- The variety is productive, early maturing, with high fruit set.
- The plant of this variety belongs to the determinate type, 55-60 cm in height.
- It is possible to grow both in open ground and in a film greenhouse.
- The leaves are medium-sized, green, with a simple inflorescence.
- Peduncle with articulation. Number of locules in the axil 3-4.
- Resistant to many diseases, fruit sets well in unfavorable conditions.
- It is distinguished by good transportability and a long shelf life.
- Another advantage of this variety is its uniform harvest, which ripens at approximately the same time.

The fruits of the Elya variety are round, smooth, and fleshy, weighing from 100 to 170 grams, and have an excellent flavor. Unripe tomatoes are green, while ripe ones are red. The tomatoes have a loose texture.
The yield is 8.8 kg/m². Harvesting occurs 100-105 days after germination. The pulp has an excellent flavor, very soft and juicy. The fruits can be eaten fresh or used for processing.

Seeds for seedlings should be planted in March, covered with approximately 2-3 cm of soil. Before planting, it is advisable to soak the seeds in potassium permanganate for 5 minutes and then rinse with clean water.
Pricking out should begin when the plants have 1-2 true leaves, into a separate container; this will have a beneficial effect on the root system. Fertilize the seedlings 2-3 times with organic fertilizers. Two weeks before planting, harden off the seedlings to protect them from stress. Plant out at 60-65 days of age, when they have 6-7 leaves.

Seedlings are transplanted into heated greenhouses in April and into plastic greenhouses in May. Open ground planting should only be done in June to completely eliminate the possibility of night frosts, as temperatures below 12°C (55°F) will cause severe disease, while temperatures below -1°C (12°F) will kill the plant.
The recommended planting density for tomatoes is 7-9 plants per square meter. Tomatoes require staking and shaping. A second stem is formed from a side shoot located before the first axil. The remaining shoots are removed, along with the lower leaves up to the first axil. Tall plants are tied to supports or trellises.

Tomatoes need to be watered and fertilized regularly, at least 2-3 times during the growing season. During fruiting, avoid excessive soil moisture, as this can severely damage the plant and cause the fruit to spoil. The main thing is not to forget about loosening the soil, without this the root system will not be able to properly consume water and minerals.
This tomato variety is not suitable for people who prefer low-growing plants, as it requires pinching to limit growth.

Reviews from gardeners
Natalya Sergeevna, Nakhodka, Primorsky Krai:
"The Elya tomato was a huge hit this year. I planted it a little late, but I still harvested it almost on time. The flavor was good, but we found the skin a little thick, but maybe that's just us. Overall, we were pleased with the variety."
Olga, Nizhnekamsk:
"Last year I planted the Elya variety at my dacha. I'm not a big fan of tall tomatoes, but Elya didn't disappoint. I harvested my first crop in June."
Irina, Cheboksary:
"The flesh is quite juicy, and the tomato size is just right—not too small, not too small. Our family really liked the Elya variety. I recommend it to everyone!"

Beautiful tomatoes, juicy! Unfortunately, I can't grow them like that. I have to pick them when they're almost green so they don't turn black. Maybe I need to use some fertilizer, like someone recommended. BioGrow Plant growth bioactivator. On the other hand, won't it be harmful to the body?
