Pink tomato varieties are always very popular among gardeners. The Samurai tomato belongs to this type of nightshade.
Most pink fruits are suitable for salads and juice. Samurai tomatoes have an excellent flavor, with a slight tartness; the fruits have a fleshy, sweet pulp. Nutritionists recommend eating these varieties fresh, as they contain high amounts of selenium, carotene, pectin, and vitamin C. They have a much higher dry matter content than red varieties. Thanks to their composition and properties, the Samurai tomato is in high demand and popular among gardeners.
Gardeners leave positive reviews of this variety, but there is some debate regarding its growing conditions. Before planting tomatoes, it's worth carefully studying all the specifics and nuances of caring for and growing this plant.

Characteristics of the variety
The Samurai tomato variety is an indeterminate variety. It can reach a height of up to 170 cm, but this is only possible in greenhouse conditions. In open ground, the tomato bush typically grows to 100-120 cm. The plant has a sturdy trunk and neat branches. It cannot be called a spreading bush, as its stems grow slightly upward. The plant requires support, so it's a good idea to provide some staking before planting to secure the stems. The leaves are regular in shape, dark green, and densely fill the bush.
This variety is mid-season, with a harvest time of 110-120 days from sowing to the first harvest. The fruits are round and smooth, without pronounced grooves. The tomatoes are pink in color, with a shiny, smooth skin. Ripe tomatoes are medium-sized, weighing up to 130-160 g. Higher yields can be achieved in greenhouse conditions, with an average fruit weight of 150-170 g.

The variety has a medium yield. One bush can yield 3-4 kg of fruit. The Samurai tomato is described as firm, moderately juicy, and aromatic, and the skin, despite its strength, is easy to peel.
The first harvest begins in mid-June. Thanks to their thick skin and unique composition, the fruits can be stored for about a month in a cool, dry place. Providing them with the right temperature and ventilation is key. They also withstand long-distance transportation well.
The Samurai variety's taste has received nothing but positive reviews. Homemakers use this tomato for a variety of uses. It's used for winter preservation as lecho, juice, and simply canned whole. Fresh fruits are used in salads and fresh juices.
Tomatoes are grown using seedlings, so it's important to know how to properly prepare seedlings from Samurai seeds.

Care and cultivation
It's best to sow the seeds in late February or early March. Initially, the seedlings are soaked in a weak solution of potassium permanganate for 30 minutes. Next, the seeds are dried and soaked again in a solution containing a growth stimulant. After these steps, the seeds should be thoroughly dried in sunlight.
For planting, use special containers filled with a specific soil mixture. You can prepare the soil yourself by mixing equal parts of soil, peat, and river sand. In this soil, young seedlings will gain a foothold and develop their root system. Plant the seeds in small holes. After planting, lightly moisten the soil with a spray bottle.

Further watering is carried out in the same way, and not with a watering can, which will prevent the seeds from being washed out of the soil.
Cover the seedling box with plastic wrap and place it in a warm, well-lit area. Open the greenhouse daily for ventilation.
As soon as the seedlings develop two strong leaves, you can begin transplanting. Peat pots are best. This allows you to plant the plants in the soil without removing them from the pots. This allows the bush to take root more quickly and eliminates the risk of damaging the root system.
Seedlings of this variety are planted according to a 50x40 pattern. No more than 3-4 bushes are placed per 1 m². After planting, the hole must be mulched with wood sawdust.

The description of further care for the plant is no different from the usual care for nightshades:
- regular watering;
- periodic loosening and fluffing of the soil;
- regular fertilizing of plants with mineral fertilizers;
- Preventive spraying against pests.
The Samurai variety has received only positive reviews. It is undemanding and resistant to many diseases and temperature fluctuations.
