Modern fungicides protect crops from various diseases and act on pathogens within hours of application. These new-generation chemicals are also successfully used for disease prevention. The instructions for the fungicide "Rovral" recommend treating sunflowers, cucumbers, and tomatoes with the product against a wide range of pathogens.
Composition, existing forms of release and purpose
The active ingredient in this contact fungicide is iprodione. One kilogram of "Rovral" contains 500 grams of it. The fungicide is sold as a beige wettable powder with a subtle odor.
Rovral is available in 1 kg packages at gardening stores. This contact fungicide is designed to treat diseases of sunflowers, tomatoes, and cucumbers, such as phomopsis and seedling rot.
Method of influence
Rovral affects plants on two levels. First, it reduces the rate of germination of fungal spores. Second, the fungicide inhibits mycelial growth.
If the fungicide is used correctly, following the instructions, then soon a weakening of pathogenic microorganisms will be observed, and later – their complete death.
Pros and cons
When using the fungicide in their garden plots and fields, farmers have identified several advantages of Rovral.

The only drawback of contact fungicide is its large packaging, which is more suitable for farmers than gardeners. Once opened, the powder quickly loses its effectiveness and doesn't produce the desired results after use.
Calculation of consumption
For Rovral to be effective against pathogens, it's important to correctly calculate the dosage, which directly depends on the application method. For root irrigation during the growing season, use 150 ml per crop. To disinfect planting holes before transplanting seedlings, use 500 ml of the working solution per hole. For seed dressing before planting, use 10 mg of powder per kilogram of seed.

Preparation of the working mixture
When preparing a working solution for treating plants, follow these step-by-step instructions:
- Prepare a clean and dry container in which the drug will be diluted.
- Pour half the required volume of water into the bucket.
- Pour in the required amount of fungicide powder and begin stirring with a wooden stick until it is completely dissolved.
- Add the remaining water and mix again until smooth.
Plants should be treated with the prepared solution on the same day, as it loses its effectiveness over time. Any remaining solution should be disposed of with care.
Instructions for use
Apply the treatment to crops in the morning or evening at temperatures no higher than 22 degrees Celsius. It's best to wait at least 2-3 hours for rain to begin after application; check the weather forecast for this.

Precautionary measures
When working with the chemical, protect your face and hands from splashes of the solution by wearing rubber gloves and a respirator. A headscarf or cap should be worn. After finishing work, wash all clothing and take a shower to remove any remaining solution.
Phytotoxicity
When the instructions for use and application rates are followed, the drug "Rovral" does not exhibit phytotoxicity and is not dangerous for cultivated plants.
Possible compatibility
One of the advantages of chemical pesticides is their ability to be used in tank mixes with other fungicides. The only exceptions are highly acidic and highly alkaline products.
Storage conditions
The shelf life of the contact fungicide in unopened packaging is 2 years. Once opened, it must be used within a week. Store the Rovral package in a utility room, out of reach of children. The temperature should not exceed 25 degrees Celsius.
Similar means
If Rovral is not available for sale, it can be replaced with other contact fungicides, for example, Rovral Aquaflo or Rovral FLO.
