Express, an effective complex herbicide that controls dicotyledonous weeds, is successfully used in sunflower cultivation when used according to instructions and boasts an excellent safety profile for humans and animals. Crop varieties resistant to the product maintain their properties and yield. Treatment does not impose any restrictions on subsequent sowing or crop rotation.
What is included in the composition and existing forms of release
The herbicide "Express" contains a chemical compound of the sulfonylurea class - tribenuron-methyl in the amount of 750 grams per 1 kilogram of the mixture. The Express Gold formula is enhanced with thifensulfuron-methyl. This substance is included in the formulation at a concentration of 187.5 grams, with 562.5 grams of tribenuron-methyl per kilogram of total pesticide weight. This imported and domestically produced herbicide is available as water-soluble granules packaged in polymer bottles.
How does the product work?
Express is a selective, broad-spectrum weed control product designed for use in adapted sunflower hybrids. Express and Express Gold actively control broadleaf weeds during the growing season, including the following difficult-to-control species:
- sow thistle;
- not required;
- pigweed;
- ambrosia;
- weeds;
- quinoa;
- Highlander.
The preparation penetrates weed seedlings through their above-ground parts (leaves, stems). The substance is distributed throughout the vascular system and blocks the enzymatic synthesis of amino acids. Enzyme deficiency prevents vital cellular processes. Seedling growth and development cease, and the plant dies.

The most susceptible species stop growing within a few hours after application. Less susceptible weeds die or stop growing within 1-4 weeks. Surviving shoots are unable to compete with the crop.
Advantages of the drug
"Express" acts selectively and is used to treat crops of specially bred sunflower hybrids.
The advantages of the drug include:
- high efficiency;
- broad spectrum of action (Express Gold has an intensive effect on hard-to-eradicate weeds);
- no direct contact with the ground;
- wide time range of use (in the vegetative phase from 2 to 8 leaves of the cultivated plant);
- rapid decomposition of active substances without harm to the environment;
- ease of use.
Surface post-emergence treatment, carried out in accordance with the instructions included with the product, helps preserve the properties of the soil and seeds, and removes subsequent restrictions for agricultural work.

How much should I spend?
This herbicide is designed for treating the above-ground parts of weeds among main crops. It is also approved for use on sunflowers of a variety adapted to the pesticide's action.
Preparation of working solution
The granules are pre-dissolved in water at a rate of 1 gram of herbicide per 10 liters of water. The solution is stirred and left for several hours until the granules are completely dissolved.
Instructions for use
Spray crops in a single application or in two stages. Ideally, spraying should be done at temperatures between +10°C and +25°C and with moderate humidity. Do not use under extreme conditions (drought, heat, cold, or heavy rainfall).

Application of the herbicide "Express" for sunflower crops
| Application scheme | Dose of the preparation, grams/hectare | Consumption of working solution, liter/hectare | Use of surfactants | Object of influence |
| One-time treatment during the vegetation phase of 2-8 sunflower leaves | 25 (minimum 15, maximum up to 50) | 200-300 | Yes | Monocotyledonous and some species of perennial dicotyledonous weeds |
| Two-stage treatment: in the vegetation phase 2-4 leaves, 6-8 leaves | 10 at stage 1, 15 at stage 2 of processing |
200-300 | Yes |
Safety precautions and toxicity levels
The systemic "Express Herbicide" is classified as a Class 3 hazard to humans, indicating low toxicity. To avoid poisoning, avoid inhaling or ingesting the herbicide and its vapors.

Carrying out work requires compliance with the following protective measures:
- use of special clothing and personal protective equipment;
- preliminary check of the serviceability of the neutral liquid spraying system;
- spraying in dry, windless weather in the morning or evening hours;
- post-procedural soaking of the container with a 5% soda solution.
Work is not carried out in the presence of children, pregnant or lactating women.
Storage terms and conditions
The herbicide should be stored in a tightly sealed container at a temperature not exceeding 50°C, away from household items and food products.
Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacture.
