Wheat crops occupy vast areas across the globe. Products that help grow a sizable harvest will always be in high demand. Lastik Top is an effective herbicide for controlling cereal weeds in grain fields. Its crop selectivity gives farmers ample time to apply it.

Composition, dosage form and purpose

Lastik Top contains a complex of chemical compounds that, when combined, provide significant effectiveness in controlling cereal weeds without affecting the vital functions of wheat. The active ingredients include:

• cloquintoset-mexil 40g/l;
• clodinafop-propargyl 60 g/l;
• fenoxaprop-P-ethyl 90 g/l.

The manufacturer, the Kazakhstani company August, produces Lastik Top in the form of an emulsion concentrate and packages it in 5- and 10-liter canisters.

How does it work and how quickly does it take effect?

Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl is used to suppress monocotyledonous weeds in cereal crops. It disrupts the balance between lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. Inhibiting this essential element, which supplies energy for vital functions and cell division, disrupts the plant's normal processes. Cell membranes cannot form, and oil reserves are not stored in seeds. In this case, cloquintocet-mexyl acts as an antidote for beneficial plants. Clodinafop-propargyl inhibits lipid synthesis.

Within 24 hours of exposure to the herbicide "Eraser Top," weeds stop growing, attempt to restore their systems to normal operation, and draw energy from old reserves.

How does the action manifest itself?

Cereal pests turn pale, and spots appear. Some organs curl. Dehydration and drying occur. This death, which is not immediately noticeable, is complete 2-4 weeks after spraying with "Eraser." The soil surface remains clean for 3-4 weeks after treatment with the herbicide. The strengthened crop no longer allows new weeds to thrive. Repeated applications of the product are not advisable.

Pros and cons

When used correctly, the benefits of the herbicide "Eraser Top" are undeniable. This is confirmed by:

• safety of the drug for the culture;
• freedom to choose the day for processing without regard to the stage of wheat development;
• a large number of weeds doomed to die due to the combination of two chemicals;
• compatibility with other herbicides and preparations for other purposes.

The disadvantage is that in regions with constant strong winds and turbulence, it is difficult to choose a day without missing the most vulnerable phase of weed development.

Calculation of consumption for different plants

Depending on the stage of weed development and the weather, 150-200 liters of working fluid are used per hectare of field.

How to prepare and use the working mixture

The quality of spraying depends on the uniform distribution of the herbicide in the working fluid. It is prepared as follows:

1. The spray tank is filled with water to 1/3-1/2 of its volume.
2. The hydro mixer is turned on.
3. A measured dose of Eraser Top is slowly poured in;
4. The liquid is kneaded for 7-10 minutes.
5. The remainder of the calculated amount of water is added.
6. Stir for another 5 minutes.

Proper use of the drug enhances its beneficial effects and minimizes potential harm. Instructions for use:

1. The working mixture with the herbicide "Lastik Top" is sprayed immediately after preparation with the hydro mixer turned on.
2. Wind speed should not exceed 4 m/s. Ensure that the product does not drift beyond the site or onto people or equipment.
3. It is better to process early in the morning or in the evening.
4. Air temperature: 10-20 °C.

Safety precautions

Before carrying out treatment, personnel must be explained the rules for handling the herbicide "Eraser Top", warned of the dangers, told about first aid methods and the symptoms of poisoning.

To prepare the working mixture, a special area should be concreted and fenced off, which is cleaned with detergent after each use. This operation should only be performed indoors with a local exhaust system. A respirator should be worn if necessary.

Only adults are permitted to work with the herbicide "Lastik Top," except pregnant and lactating women and those exempted during a medical examination. Uniforms for personnel working with the pesticide:

• gauze bandage.

Contact with the product is permitted for 6 hours within 24 hours. Before lunch or after the work site and equipment have been cleaned, and any remaining herbicide has been stored, wash your hands and face with soap. Remove gloves, taking care not to touch the contaminated side. Protective clothing should be stored separately from other household items. Pesticide containers should not be used for any other purposes and should be disposed of at a recycling center along with discarded chemicals.

How toxic is it?

"Lastik Top" is moderately hazardous to humans, animals, and beneficial insects. Failure to observe safety precautions can result in unpleasant consequences, even poisoning. Skin contact with the herbicide can cause redness and swelling. A fine spray without protective goggles can cause severe swelling of the eyelids and tearing. If the herbicide gets into the eyes, rinse with water. If the sclera (eyeball) becomes red, consult a doctor. Allergies and persistent hypersensitivity to the chemical may also occur.

What to do in case of poisoning

If the herbicide "Lastik" gets into your mouth, rinse it out immediately with water and baking soda. If symptoms of intoxication appear, drink as much water as possible. Crush activated charcoal tablets (20-30) and wash down the powder with water. Do not induce vomiting.

Signs of poisoning are as follows:

• increased heart rate;
• shortness of breath;
• nausea;
• weakness;
• elevated temperature;
• dizziness.

This may be a consequence of a safety violation.

When such symptoms occur, the first thing a person should do is:

• are moved away at a distance of 100 m from the area being treated with herbicide;
• seat or lay down comfortably;
• loosen clothing in the chest area.

Possible compatibility

"Lastik Top" is not mixed with strong alkalis, acids, or oxidizing agents.

It combines well with herbicides whose active ingredients are:

• clopyralid;
• sulfonylureas;
• phenoxy acids.

Before adding fungicides, insecticides, or other products not specified by the manufacturer as approved for mixing to the "Lastik" tank, conduct a compatibility test. Combine small amounts of the chemicals diluted in water, shake them for several minutes, and then leave them for half an hour under a tightly closed lid.

A precipitate, foam, or flakes will indicate a reaction has occurred. The separated substances are most likely neutral to each other. If the reaction remains unchanged after remixing, this is the case.

Storage conditions and shelf life

The herbicide "Lastik" is stored in a dry, ventilated area. It must not be stored together with feed additives, feed preservatives, or paints and varnishes. The herbicide must be kept in sealed, labeled packaging and be easily accessible. Fire extinguishing equipment must be kept in the warehouse.

Regulatory and technical documentation is created for the product. A diagram of the location of all pesticides is posted on the outer wall of the warehouse.
