Agricultural crops must be treated to remove weeds that would otherwise interfere with their growth. Many new products have been developed recently that effectively kill weeds. Let's look at the composition of the Galera herbicide, its action, pros and cons, how to prepare the solution, and application rates. We'll also discuss its use according to the instructions, possible compatibility, and similar products.
Composition, existing forms of release and purpose
Galera is a systemic pesticide effective against both annual and perennial weeds. The herbicide is used to treat mustard and rapeseed crops after the crop emerges. The product contains 267 g of clopyramide per liter and 17 g of aminopyralid per liter. The manufacturer, Corteva Agriscience, produces Galera in 5-liter canisters as an aqueous solution.
Method of influence
"Galera" affects growth processes in weed tissue. Its active ingredients are synthetic versions of plant hormones. When they penetrate tissue, they disrupt growth processes, leading to the gradual death of harmful plants. The herbicide also penetrates the roots, making it effective against common weeds such as sow thistle. The first signs of the herbicide's effects can be seen 12-18 hours after spraying. These include twisted, thickened shoots, cracked stems, growths on them, and corrugated or thinned leaves.
The solution is resistant to washout by rain, which can occur as early as an hour after application. To rid crops of harmful weeds, one treatment is required; subsequent treatments will prevent new growth.
Advantages and disadvantages

Calculation of consumption
To treat mustard, winter and spring rapeseed, 0.3-0.35 liters per hectare of crop is required. Spray in the spring or fall, when the crop is in the budding stage of 2-4 leaves. The consumption rate of "Galera" solution is 100-400 liters per hectare.
Preparation of working solution
To obtain a highly effective solution, follow these steps: pour 50% of the solution into the tank, add the herbicide, and stir. While stirring, pour the remaining water into the tank.

The prepared solution should be used within the next few hours; do not leave any liquid in the sprayer. After use, rinse the tank and working parts of the sprayer with water.
Instructions for use of herbicide
The temperature during application should be between 8 and 25°C. Do not apply after frost or on the day of expected frost. Do not spray plants weakened by drought or disease.
Weeds with 2-10 leaf growth and perennial weeds with a rosette width of up to 10-15 cm respond well to control. A solution of "Galera" and "Galera Super" should be applied evenly over the weed surface. It is recommended to use sprayers with a medium droplet size.
Precautionary measures
Do not dilute the solution near water sources. When diluting and handling the product, wear protective clothing only. Wear thick, full-body clothing. Wear gloves and a respirator to protect your respiratory system and eyes from the solution. Do not smoke, eat, or drink while working with the product.

Is compatibility possible and what is the degree of toxicity?
"Galera" can be mixed with herbicides used against cereals. It can be combined with pesticides used against weeds resistant to the compounds in the herbicide, and can also be diluted with insecticides, fertilizer solutions, and fungicides.
Not compatible with growth regulators and similar medications. Before using new products with Galera, check compatibility by mixing a small amount in a separate container.
The product's human toxicity class is 3, meaning it's low-hazard. It rarely causes poisoning, but protective clothing should be worn when handling it. The herbicide is also non-toxic to plants and soil when used at the recommended dosage. Any crop can be grown in the area one year after application.

Storage conditions and periods
"Galera" has a shelf life of two years from the date of production. Store the herbicide in its original packaging with the lid closed. Store in a dry, dimly lit, and cool place. Do not store food, medications, or animal feed near the canisters. Dispose of the product after its expiration date. The same applies to the prepared solution, which can only be stored for about half a day.
Analogues
Galera's aminopyralid analogues include the agricultural products Galera Super, Lancelot, and Prima Forte. Clopyralid has significantly more analogues, including Agron, Alpha Pyralid, Bolid, Vybor, Galion, Ilion, Kirai, Kleo, Clopirid, Klorid, Lerashans, Longan, Losk, Megalit, Monolith, Piraclid, Raps Agro, Hacker, Tsukron+, Chermen, and Efilon.
The herbicide "Galera" is a new, effective product used commercially on mustard and rapeseed crops. It is low-toxic and effective against many common weeds, including pigweed, ragweed, and sow thistle. Cruciferous crops can be treated in spring and fall, provided temperatures are favorable. This product is fast-acting and effective; a single treatment is sufficient to keep crops weed-free for the remainder of the growing season.
