Plant diseases and pests in the garden are problems every gardener faces. To achieve a good harvest, strong, healthy plants are essential, and various agrochemicals are used to achieve this. It's worth learning more about the properties and uses of Fosetil aluminum when growing agricultural crops.
What is included in the composition and dosage form
The product belongs to the group of organophosphorus compounds. It has several similar names: aluminum ethyl phosphite, fosetyl, and fosetyl aluminum. The product is highly soluble in water, but significantly less soluble in organic solvents. It is produced as a wettable, water-soluble powder with an 80% concentration, is stable in aqueous solutions, and is suitable for long-term storage without loss of potency.
It belongs to the class of pesticides and fungicides, easily penetrates the plant's system, and has a protective and immunizing effect. It is sold in sealed 2.5-kilogram polymer bags.
Mechanism of action and purpose
The product is used to protect grapes from mildew. With acropetal (bottom-up) and basipetal (top-down) systemic penetration, it effectively and quickly combats the infection.
Used for preventative and protective purposes, it affects the plant's immune system, enhancing its ability to resist diseases and pests. The benefits of this product include:
- the possibility of rapid systemic penetration, precipitation does not interfere with the effect on the plant;
- protection of young untreated shoots;
- long period of protection;
- therapeutic, protective and preventive effects on plants.
The product is non-phytotoxic and non-addictive. Its effects begin 30-40 minutes after application.

Calculation of consumption and rules of use
The grapes are treated with a working solution of fungicide. The mixture is prepared on the day of treatment and is not stored for more than 24 hours.
To prepare, pour 1/3 of the required amount of water into the tank, then add the water-soluble powder. The mixer is turned on to ensure complete dissolution of the preparation, after which the volume is brought to the calculated value by adding the remaining water.
| Powder consumption per hectare | The plant being processed | Type of infection | Processing period, consumption of working solution, in liters/hectare | Number of treatments, waiting time |
| 2.5 kilograms | grape | mildew | Spray during the inflorescence formation phase, after flowering (70% of petals fall), and during the fruit formation period. Treatment after 1.5-2 weeks. 800-1000 | 3 (30) |
When working on a private farm, use 25 grams of the product per 10 liters of water. Work in the vineyard can be resumed after 7 days. Mechanized work is resumed after 3 days. Treatment should be carried out in calm weather and windless conditions. Notify nearby beekeepers beforehand. Do not use the product in water protection zones.

Precautionary measures
The fungicide is classified as hazard class 2 for humans (highly toxic) and hazard class 3 for bees. All work with the fungicide must be performed by trained personnel authorized to handle agrochemicals and who have completed safety training.
Specialists are provided with protective suits, goggles, rubber gloves, respirators, and rubber boots. After treating plants, they should shower and change clothes.
Eating and smoking are prohibited while working. Afterward, rinse the sprayer to remove any remaining product, unscrew it, and let it dry.

Is compatibility possible?
It is best not to use this product in tank mixes. It should not be used with fertilizers, alkaline products, or copper-based products. It can be used with neutral (pH 7) products. Before preparing the product, check for chemical and physical compatibility.
Storage terms and conditions
Fosethyl aluminum is stored in cool, dry areas. Use the manufacturer's packaging with clearly visible information about the intended use, product name, and ingredients. Unauthorized persons, animals, and children are prohibited from entering the agrochemical storage area. The fungicide storage area must be properly ventilated.
Store the product away from food and animal feed, out of the reach of children and pets, and out of direct sunlight. When stored properly, the product has a shelf life of two years from the date of manufacture.
