Description of the hybrid tomato Gosudar and the features of growing the variety

The Gosudar f1 tomato was developed by Poisk breeders for outdoor cultivation. This hybrid tomato variety is a salad variety, characterized by high yields and early ripening.

What is the tomato Gosudar f1?

Characteristics and description of the variety:

  1. The fruits ripen within 100 days after sowing the seeds for seedlings in pots.
  2. Grows well in unheated greenhouses.
  3. The bushes are limited in growth; plants can grow up to a maximum of 90 cm (in open ground conditions).
  4. The bushes have small, dark green foliage.
  5. On each stem, four clusters are formed, on which the inflorescences of future fruits are then formed.
  6. There is no need to shape the stem.
  7. The bushes experience rapid and stable growth of green mass.
  8. From one plot of 1 m², summer residents harvest 16 kg of tomatoes.

Tomatoes Gosudar

The main differences between the hybrid and the famous Tsar tomato variety are:

  1. Ripening period. The Gosudary variety is early-ripening, while Tsar is mid-ripening.
  2. The Gosudar tomato was created by scientists as a hybrid, while Tsar Peter is the result of long and successful selection.
  3. Tsar Peter is grown in greenhouses, hotbeds, and open beds, while breeders recommend growing Gosudar in open ground.

According to gardeners, the Gosudar variety is highly resistant to the following fruit bush diseases:

  • stolbur;
  • TMV;
  • Alternaria.

The hybrid variety is famous not only for its external plant parameters and advantages over other tomatoes, but also for its excellent quality fruits.

Hybrid tomato

As tomatoes ripen, they develop a sweet and sour tomato flavor. Other characteristics worth noting include:

  1. High level of keeping quality and transportability of fruits.
  2. The core is soft, juicy and sugary.
  3. The skin is dense, shiny, glossy, and does not crack during ripening and storage in boxes.
  4. The tomatoes are egg-shaped with a teardrop-shaped tip.
  5. The average weight of one tomato is 180 g or more.
  6. Tomatoes contain a large amount of sugar, which gives the fruit its sweetness.
  7. The color of ripe fruits is yellow-red.
  8. Inside tomatoes there are 8 to 9 seed chambers.

Gardeners' reviews of the tomatoes are positive. The fruits ripen well indoors and can be stored without refrigeration for up to one month without any loss of quality. If the tomatoes are picked while still green at the end of the season, they can be stored in boxes in a dark place.
The Gosudar variety is used to make salads, juices, ketchups, pastes, and juices. All products have a sweet flavor.

How to grow tomatoes?

The yield of this variety is largely determined by the climate, natural characteristics of the region, and weather conditions. Care for the seedlings is also crucial.

Proper care of future tomato plants begins as early as the seeding stage. Peat pots for planting the seeds should be prepared in mid-March. Before planting, the seeds and pots are disinfected with a weak solution of potassium permanganate.

Tomato seedlings

For growing seedlings, use light and fertile soil; peat is ideal. The seeds are planted 1 cm deep. The containers with the sown seeds should be kept in a room with a temperature of 23 to 25ºC. As soon as the first sprouts appear, the temperature should be reduced to 18ºC.

2 or 3 weeks before transferring to a permanent growing location, the plants must be hardened, ventilated, and pricked out after two true leaves appear.

Beds in greenhouses and open ground are prepared in advance.

Growing tomatoes

Mineral fertilizers containing nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus should be added to the soil. As soon as spring frosts subside, the seedlings are planted in beds, with 1 tablespoon of double superphosphate added under each bush. As they grow, the plants should be tied to prevent them from breaking under the weight of the fruit.

The soil around the bushes should be mulched periodically, adding organic matter. Plants produce a high yield with regular loosening, moderate watering, and adequate sunlight. In the shade, the Gosudar variety will produce hard, slightly tart fruit.
