The African Climber tomato is a mid-season variety intended for indoor cultivation. Its heart-shaped, intensely crimson fruits boast a harmonious, balanced flavor.
Benefits and types of tomatoes
Amateur and regionalized varieties, depending on growing conditions, yield 12-25 kg of fruit per bush. As they grow, thin shoots form, resulting in a bush up to 4 m tall.

The tall African Liana tomato variety develops into a sparsely foliated bush with regular, slightly drooping leaves. The heart-shaped fruits are intensely pink when ripe. Each tomato weighs 150–350 g.
The pulp has a grainy texture and a sweet, balanced flavor. In cooking, tomatoes are used fresh and for making juice.
Tomato varieties bred in Siberia thrive, produce fruit both in greenhouses and open ground, and boast excellent flavor and high yields. These tomatoes are popular among farmers for their large size and pleasant salad flavor.
Description:
- Tomato Siberian Liana is intended for growing in a greenhouse.
- During the growth process, a bush 1.5 m high is formed.
- The plant is resistant to diseases and changes in weather conditions.

- The variety is characterized by the formation of large clusters with 6-7 pink fruits on the bushes.
- The tomatoes are round in shape, with an elongated top, dense flesh, and a pleasant taste.
The Podsinskaya Liana tomato is a cultivar with unlimited growth. A ripe tomato resembles a huge, smooth plum with a pointed tip. It is bright red in color and has a glossy surface.
Each cluster contains 4-6 ripening tomatoes, weighing 250-400 g. The tomatoes are not small, but are uniform in size and weight throughout the entire plant. The flesh is meaty and sweet. When cut horizontally, flat chambers containing a small number of seeds are visible.

For proper plant development, it's best to plant the bushes in a sunny location and fertile soil. When grown in a greenhouse, the bush is trained into 2-3 stems. In cooking, the fruits are used fresh, in sauces and ketchup.
Agricultural technology of cultivation
Tomatoes are grown using seedlings. Two months before the expected planting date, the seeds are placed in containers with moistened soil to a depth of 1 cm. Before sowing, they are pre-soaked in a potassium permanganate solution.

Seedling care involves periodic watering. A spray bottle is used for better moisture distribution. Once sprouted, the seedlings are gradually hardened off by exposing their containers to fresh air.
Vine tomato bushes are planted 1 meter apart, with a 1.5-meter distance between rows. Seedlings are placed at an angle to encourage additional root development. It is recommended to leave shallow grooves between tomato rows for irrigation.
To ensure air and light reach the fruit clusters, vine-like tomatoes are tied up like a grape trellis. To do this, stakes or rebar are driven into the ground next to the planted vines at 3-meter intervals, and rows of wire are strung through them.

This method of garter prevents the development of late blight and promotes the health of the crop. When planting tomatoes in a greenhouse, you need to monitor the moisture level in the soil and regularly ventilate the room. To get a good harvest and ensure access of light to the fruits, it is recommended to regularly remove shoots.
Reviews from vegetable growers
According to reviews, vine-type tomatoes are popular among gardeners due to their large fruit shape, excellent taste, uniform ripening, and high yield per bush.
Evgeniya Krylova, 45 years old, Kostroma:
"I grew the African Liana tomato in a greenhouse. The description of the mid-season variety caught my attention. I was pleased with the large fruits and high yield. The tomatoes are medium-sized and heart-shaped. The flesh is pink when cut, appetizing, and sweet. The seed chambers contain few seeds. The fruits are excellent for canning and eating fresh."
Anatoly Lavrov, 59 years old, Adler:
"The African Climber tomato was recommended by my neighbors. I grew the seedlings from seeds and transplanted them to a permanent location in the garden. The bushes are tall, so I had to build a trellis for support. The tomatoes have little foliage, but I removed the side shoots to improve fruiting. The yield was above average. The fruits are tasty, juicy, and sweet. They are a joy to pick from the vine due to their uniform size and rich pink color. They are excellent for canning and eating fresh."
