The Orange Pear tomato combines an unusual color and shape with excellent flavor. The plant was added to the Russian Hybrid Register in 2008. The bush produces numerous medium-sized fruits. Tomatoes of this variety are used in various salads and for canning.
Some information about the plant
The characteristics and description of the Orange Pear variety are as follows:
- The plant feels great with short-term temperature fluctuations and extreme heat.
- The bushes of the Orange Pear variety grow up to 140-150 cm. These tomatoes have no trunk at all.
- The plant maturation period from sowing seeds to harvesting is 105-110 days.

Characteristics and description of the variety:
- The berry is light orange in color and pear-shaped.
- The weight of an individual fruit reaches 55-65 g.
- The interior of the berry is red or orange. Each fruit contains up to five seed chambers, but the number of seeds is small.
The plant must be protected from various diseases, as it is easily affected by fungal and viral infections. It is recommended for cultivation in open ground in the southern regions of Russia, the Non-Black Earth Region, and the central part of Russia. In the Far North and Siberia, this tomato variety grows well only in greenhouses.

Reviews of the variety are positive, but almost all farmers note that to obtain a large harvest, the Orange Pear must be grown in plastic greenhouses, even in central Russia. In closed greenhouses, the yield of this tomato reaches up to 6.4 kg per square meter. In open ground, this figure drops to 5 kg per square meter. The harvested crop can be stored for up to 45 days in a cool place or refrigerator. This variety is not suitable for long-distance transportation; it is best consumed immediately.
Agricultural technology
It's best to purchase tomato seeds from specialized seed farms. Experienced gardeners can try to grow the plant using seeds harvested from the fruit, but this isn't always successful.

The seeds are placed in boxes with soil at a depth of 10-15 mm. This should be done 55-60 days before the planned planting. The soil should be well loosened and moist. Approximately 10 days after the sprouts appear, it is recommended to move the seedlings to a well-lit area.
Orange pear is planted in beds spaced 0.4 by 0.6 m. The bush is formed into a single stem.
To plant the bushes, prepare the soil. It should be well-loosened. Regular watering is recommended, as this variety is quite moisture-loving. Water with warm water early in the morning or in the evening, after sunset. When the first clusters appear on the bushes, pinch off the growing points and then remove the leaves below them.

Orange pears require regular pruning and fertilization with organic and complex fertilizers. Staking the plant is recommended, otherwise the branches may break under the weight of the ripening fruit. Weed the beds regularly and loosen the soil regularly.
To avoid late blight, it is recommended to regularly treat the bushes with Fitosporin or copper-containing solutions.

Whiteflies, a garden pest, pose a threat to greenhouse crops. While this pest doesn't damage tomatoes of this variety in open ground, other insects can attack the plants. To control whiteflies, use appropriate chemical solutions or sticky traps.
