Characteristics of the Obskie Kupola F1 tomato and a description of how to grow the hybrid

The Obskie Kupola F1 tomato was bred by Siberian agrobiologists and is a first-generation hybrid. This early-ripening variety is intended for cultivation in northern regions. The dome-shaped, raspberry-colored fruits are used fresh in cooking and for processing.

Advantages of a hybrid

Obskie Kupola tomatoes are characterized by a mid-early fruiting period. It takes 100 days from seeding to harvest. During cool summers, the ripening period may be extended.

Heart-shaped tomatoes

This variety is suitable for cultivation in open ground and plastic greenhouses. This hybrid combines the valuable qualities of Siberian-bred tomatoes. The plant adapts to harsh climates, produces abundant fruit, and is easy to care for.

A determinate tomato. During the growing season, the bush develops into a 60 cm tall plant. When grown in protected soil, the bush can reach 70 cm in height. High yields are achieved when the plant is grown in 3-5 stems.

The variety's characteristics and description are based on the fruit's characteristics. The dome-shaped tomatoes resemble persimmons in appearance. At the technical ripeness stage, they acquire an intense pink color.

Heart-shaped tomatoes

The fruits are rich in vitamins, fleshy, and have excellent flavor, with a sugary texture when broken. The medium-firm tomatoes are resistant to cracking when ripe. They weigh 150-250 g. This hybrid is characterized by high yields. A low-growing bush grown in open ground can yield 3-5 kg. When grown in a greenhouse, the yield can reach 6 kg per plant.

In cooking, tomatoes are used to make salads, juices, pastes, sauces, and as a base for appetizers and entrees. Vegetable growers praise the excellent pickling qualities of large tomatoes.

The hybrid's description indicates the plant's resistance to the main diseases of nightshade crops. Harvested fruits withstand long-distance transportation well.

Agricultural technology for tomato cultivation

Seeds for seedlings are sown 55-60 days before the expected planting date. To speed up germination, the seeds are treated with a plant growth and development stimulant.

The seeds are placed in containers with prepared soil at a depth of 1 cm. After watering with a sprinkler, the container is covered with glass or film.

For seed germination, maintaining an optimal temperature of 23 to 25°C is necessary. Once the sprouts emerge, remove the cover and place the container in a well-lit area.

At this stage of crop development, apply mineral fertilizers. Water the plants with warm water as the surface soil dries.

Tomato seedlings

When two true leaves have formed, transplant the plants into separate containers. This allows you to select strong plants and ensures root development.

Tomato plants are spaced 50 cm apart. Row spacing is 40 cm. Three to four plants per square meter are recommended. Care and maintenance include hilling, loosening the soil, and weed removal.

The hybrid responds well to watering and fertilizing with complex fertilizers containing phosphorus, potassium, and nitrogen. It is recommended to tie the bushes to a support, and remove excess shoots down to the first cluster.

Sprouts then

Growing recommendations for this crop include requirements for planting site selection. To ensure normal development, plants should be placed in full sun and partial shade.

Despite the hybrid's resilience, if cultivation guidelines are not followed, the bushes can be susceptible to fungal and viral diseases. Specialized pesticides are recommended as an effective control method.

To do this, prepare an aqueous solution and spray the plants during the growing season. The Obskie Kupola hybrid can be susceptible to powdery mildew. This fungal disease is common in glass greenhouses.

Powdery mildew

Treatment of the disease includes:

  • decrease in indoor temperature;
  • irrigation control;
  • increasing plant immunity;
  • application of fertilizer containing a complex of vitamins and minerals.

Biological pest control involves the use of insecticides and folk remedies. Depending on the pest species, solutions including wood ash, liquid soap, and celandine infusion are used. Treatment involves spraying the plants and the surrounding soil.

    Tomatoes of this variety grow quite large, the flesh is firm, but the skin is not very thick. I recommend using BioGrowThis product stimulates seedling growth. I really like this variety.

    This is a wonderful tomato variety; it truly adapts easily to any harsh conditions. The author states that the harvest period is about 100 days, but I disagree. This process can be accelerated with various additives; I use BioGrow (organic growth stimulant). Before planting, seeds need to be soaked for 48 hours, which reduces the time until harvest to approximately 75-85 days. Please note that each species requires its own soaking period.
