Those who strive to grow organic vegetables in their gardens will appreciate the Aquarelle tomato. This determinate variety is a mid-early tomato that produces a large harvest.
It was first cultivated by Siberian breeders, who achieved excellent results. The "Akvarel" variety can be grown both outdoors and in greenhouses, with equal productivity. Harvesting is possible within 3-3.5 months of sowing. This Siberian variety requires no special care.
Features of the variety
The main visual distinguishing feature of the "Aquarelle" tomato plant is its strong, massive stem. This is why it doesn't always require staking or additional support. When the harvest ripens and the fruits begin to touch the ground, the plant should be supported to prevent damage.

The leaves have the typical, standard shape typical of the cultivar, and are green in color. The bush grows up to 50 cm in height. With proper planting and care, the "Akvarel" variety produces a consistently good and abundant harvest in regions with a wide range of climates.
Once 4-5 leaves appear on a branch, the first ovary appears. Characteristically, 6 identical fruits ripen on each branch. It's worth noting in the variety's description that its fruits are always uniform in size and have a round, plum-like shape. They can weigh between 60 and 100 grams, making them a popular choice for canning. Experienced gardeners claim that 1 m² of this plant can yield 6 to 9 kg of fruit per season.
Characteristics of the Watercolor tomato
The bush, with its large trunk, resembles a small tree, with densely packed fruits. The tomato has a slightly sweet flavor, and its flesh is quite dense and meaty. A cross-section reveals two chambers containing a small number of seeds.

A distinctive feature of the "Akvarel" variety are the yellowish spots located on the fruit around the stalk. The fruit is easy to harvest without damaging the branches. Many farmers confidently use machines for harvesting.
Thanks to its dense structure, tomatoes are ideal for long-distance transportation. The fruits are used to make tomato paste and for canning—in jars "for the winter," the brightly colored tomatoes are identical in size and look very appetizing and beautiful. They are also used in salads and eaten fresh.

Another feature of the Aquarelle variety is its resistance to septoria and blossom end rot.
Tomatoes don't have a very long shelf life: experienced gardeners say that after picking the fruits from the bush, they can be stored for about 1 month in a cool place.
The characteristics of the crop indicate that the Aquarelle variety is advantageous for large-scale production of various tomato products, for purchases by restaurants and other catering establishments.

Growing rules
To get an early harvest, grow seedlings in warm greenhouses or hotbeds and follow these recommendations:
- Sow 1-1.5 months before the first frost is expected in the area. The seed packet includes a photo showing the appearance of the fruits and the bush. The first shoots appear within a week, but it's important to ensure they have a temperature of 22-23°C and humidity of at least 60-65%. The seedlings prefer good light and regular watering.
- Tomatoes need to be watered every 10-12 days. Allow the water to settle and maintain a temperature of 20°C. You need to water carefully so as not to expose the young roots and not wash away the soil.
- Seedlings are planted in open ground at a rate of 3-4 plants per 1 m². Planting takes place at the end of May.
- It is important to add fertilizer and mineral fertilizer to the soil in a timely manner.
The "Aquarelle" tomato variety is an excellent vegetable crop that's easy to grow and care for. This variety will appeal to those who enjoy the sweet, firm texture of tomatoes.

Gardeners' reviews
Maria Ivanovna, 55 years old, Pskov:
"I bought 'Aquarelle' tomato seeds on the recommendation of a friend. Before purchasing, I read reviews from gardeners about the variety. They were all positive. I planted the seedlings in a greenhouse at the end of September. I noticed that the 'Aquarelle' variety thrives on light, so it's important to ensure adequate lighting. I planted the seedlings according to schedule and ultimately yielded a wonderful harvest."
Olga Vladimirovna, 40 years old, Sevastopol:
"An ideal variety for canning and pickling in barrels. The Aquarelle tomato requires standard care, and the yield is twice that of ordinary tomato varieties. I grew the seedlings indoors in a mini greenhouse, and despite this, the sprouts were large and strong."
