Description and characteristics of the Bystryonok f1 tomato variety, its cultivation

Many gardeners recommend the Bystryonok f1 tomato, produced by Vashe Khozyaystvo, a company that grows tomatoes both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses. This variety is one of the earliest ripening. Most fruits ripen within 85-95 days after germination.

Description of the Bystryonok tomato

Description and characteristics of the Bystryonok tomato variety:

  1. The plants are not tall (about 75-80 cm), but they require mandatory tying and pinching, which involves removing lateral shoots growing in the axils of the leaves.
  2. The seedlings are not spreading.
  3. The fruits are round with a smooth surface. Each fruit averages 110–120 g in weight, but some weigh up to 180 g. The plants are known for their good yield.
  4. Fully ripened tomatoes are dark pink in color. The fruits have tender flesh and a pleasant flavor.
  5. They are suitable for various types of canning and fresh consumption. They transport well and do not crack when overripe.

Growing the Bystryonok tomato

Since this variety is early, the seeds should be sown approximately 1.5 months before planting. According to the lunar gardening calendar for 2025, this variety should be planted between March 13 and 15. If transplanting the seedlings is planned no earlier than mid-May, the above sowing dates are too early. However, the calendar notes that planting is permitted on other days, but not during the new moon (March 17 and April 16) or the full moon (March 2 and 31).

The seed planting depth should be 1-1.5 cm.

When the first 2-3 leaves appear on the seedlings, they need to be pricked out, that is, transplanted into separate, larger containers.

Seedlings aged 50 days are transplanted into open ground. If you have a heated greenhouse, planting can begin as early as late April, but if the greenhouse has a plastic covering, it won't be until late May.

Planting in the ground is carried out according to a 40 x 70 cm scheme, in which about 5 seedlings are placed per 1 m².

Tomato seeds

Plants require rare but abundant watering, applied directly to the roots.

Any tomato variety can be susceptible to a very common fungal disease called brown rot (late blight), the presence of which is indicated by the appearance of elongated dark brown spots or stripes from grayish-brown to brownish-brown shades on various parts.

This disease most often appears from late July, when there is a significant temperature difference between day and night. By this time, Bystryonok has almost finished fruiting, but it's still a good idea to take preventative measures. An excess of nitrogen in the soil, waterlogging, and dense plantings can also contribute to its earlier appearance.

Growing tomatoes

To prevent late blight, you can take the following steps:

  • Before planting, soak the seeds for several minutes in a 1% solution of potassium permanganate (potassium permanganate);
  • in mid-July, spray the plants with boric acid (0.5 teaspoon per 5 liters of water);
  • Use Epin according to the instructions.

Having tried growing this variety once, most gardeners keep these tomatoes in their plots for several years. Reviews from those who have grown this variety are positive. Consumers note Bystrenko's high yield, excellent taste, uniform fruit set, and abundant fruiting.

    It's a very good variety, we plant it all the time, it's also resistant to diseases, but I noticed that when we used a plant growth bioactivator this year BioGrow, the harvest was noticeably better.
