Maxim is an effective product for protecting crops from rot and other diseases at various stages: before planting, during growth, and during storage. It is a contact fungicide of natural origin. This feature is the main advantage of Maxim over similar products, making it completely safe for plants and soil.
What is included in the composition and existing forms of release
The main active ingredient is fludioxonil. The concentration of this component is 25 percent per liter. This element is of natural origin: it is synthesized by soil bacteria. The product is available in liquid form. The packaging contains a mixture of red, water-soluble, odorless solid particles. Several packaging options are available:
- ampoules;
- plastic bottles;
- canisters.
The protective effect of the drug lasts for 12 weeks.
Mechanism of action
"Maxim" has a contact-penetrating effect, thereby inhibiting the activity of pathogenic microorganisms. The substance coats the surface of seeds, tubers, and the plants themselves, preventing infection from penetrating into their tissues.
Scope of application
Fungicide is a universal preparation that allows you to:
- protect potatoes from rot and other diseases;
- protect flowers and vegetables before planting and during storage;
- disinfect the soil (treat the holes and furrows);
- treat the planting material;
- process flowers.
The product is used as a standalone preparation or mixed with other fungicides and insecticides.
Advantages of fungicide

Maxim's main advantage is the natural origin of its active ingredient. It is approved for use on private plots, which distinguishes it from other similar products.
How to prepare a working mixture
The product is used in liquid form, so it's necessary to prepare a solution. This can be done independently by adjusting the required amounts of water and concentrate. The exact proportions depend on the application and the crops being treated.
For flowers
The fungicide is suitable for protecting bulbous and tuberous flowers, such as orchids, begonias, tulips, daffodils, and gladioli. The recommended dosage is 4 milliliters of concentrate per 2 liters of water. The resulting solution is sufficient to treat 2 kilograms of material. The plant parts are soaked in the solution for half an hour, then dried and planted. Flowers are also treated with the fungicide in the fall to ensure their survival until spring.

For the soil
To treat the soil, dilute 40 milliliters of concentrate in 20 liters of clean water. This amount is enough to treat 10 square meters of soil. After treatment, cover the soil with black plastic. This ensures the fungicide is effective.
The film is removed after 4 days, and the soil is colonized with beneficial microorganisms. Planting occurs 10 days later.
For potatoes
You'll need 20 milliliters of fungicide per 1 liter of water. To treat potatoes before storage, you'll need 1 liter of the mixture. To make a solution for daily spraying, dissolve 80 milliliters in 2 liters of water. This amount is enough for 200 kg of tubers.

How to use correctly
The fungicide is available in a ready-to-use form. Simply mix the ingredients. In addition to the main ingredient, the packaging includes an adhesive. According to the instructions, the product should be diluted with water at a ratio of 1:4. The planting material must be dry before application.
Security measures
When using a fungicide, precautions must be taken:
- Do not mix the mixture in a container intended for food preparation. A separate container is required.
- You will need protective clothing for this work.
- It is prohibited to drink, eat and smoke while working.
- Spraying should take place away from water sources, children, and pets.
- After completing all activities, you should change clothes and wash your face and hands with soap.
- If the product gets into your eyes or on your skin, wash the area of contact thoroughly with clean water.

What to do in case of poisoning with the product
If the concentrate has entered the body, call a doctor. Before the doctor arrives, do the following:
- Provide access to fresh air.
- Give the victim activated charcoal and perform gastric lavage. The tablets should be taken with plenty of water. Gag reflex is induced with a saline solution.
Possible compatibility
"Maxim" can be combined with:
- fungicides;
- insecticides;
- micronutrient fertilizers.
Test the products first by combining them in a small amount. If flakes or sediment appear, do not combine them.

How to store it correctly and for how long
Store the solution in a dark, dry place, out of reach of children and animals. Keep away from food, medications, and pet food. The optimal storage temperature is -5 to +35°C. The shelf life is 3 years. Discard the solution packaging.
