Corn is a popular crop among farmers due to its high sales. To ensure yields fully cover costs, careful weed control is essential, as weeds negatively impact crop growth and development. Bayer has developed and produced the innovative Adengo, an effective herbicide for controlling broadleaf and grass weeds.
Composition and existing forms of release
This product belongs to the class of fluorinated substances. It is supplied as a suspension concentrate, packaged in 5-liter plastic containers. Its effectiveness is due to its unique composition, which contains:
- isoxaflutole – 225 grams per liter;
- thiencarbazone-methyl – 90 grams per liter;
- cyprosulfamide – 150 grams per liter.
Advantages and disadvantages
The uniqueness of the herbicide "Adengo" is that it can be used to treat crops before and after emergence.

One of the product's drawbacks is that it cannot be used in conjunction with nitrogen fertilizers. Pre-emergence treatment may cause chlorosis, which does not affect crop quality. After spraying with the chemical, it is not recommended to plant other crops in the treated area for 1-2 years.
Mode of action
The main component, isoxaflutole, penetrates the seeds and shoots of weeds. The substance inhibits carotenoid biosynthesis, causing discoloration of young shoots. Harmful plants die in the early stages of growth.
This kills weeds within 2-4 weeks. Isoxaflutole remains well on the soil surface. Working in conjunction with the antidote, the substance promotes long-term selective weed control.

How long is it effective?
The active period of the pesticide depends on weather conditions and the application rate. The protective period lasts from eight weeks before harvest. One application per growing season is usually sufficient.
Excessive soil moisture leads to a weakening of the herbicide's protective response.
In such cases, a new wave of infestations is stopped by inter-row cultivation or additional treatment with other pesticides. Complete death of the harmful plants occurs within 2-3 weeks after spraying.
Consumption rates for different plants
The application rate of the herbicide "Adengo" is indicated in the table:
| Culture | Pests | Consumption rate of the product, l/ha | Method and time of processing |
| Corn | Annual cereals, dicotyledons | 0.4-0.5 | Spraying before emergence or after the appearance of 2-3 leaves of the crop, in the early period of weed growth |
How to prepare a working solution?
The mixture is prepared in a bucket. Fill the container ¼ full with water and add the required amount of product. Mix the ingredients thoroughly, then add water until the desired volume is reached. Place the resulting solution in the sprayer tank and begin treatment.
Instructions for use
To obtain the best results, follow certain rules for processing crops:
- The working solution should be evenly distributed during spraying.
- Fine-droplet treatment is effective.
- Direct contact of corn with herbicide should be avoided.
- After spraying, until the crop has 4-5 leaves, mechanical work on the soil is prohibited.

The instructions for use state that sensitive crops should not be planted in the treated fields the following year. It is recommended to replant the same area with corn.
Precautionary measures
The chemical is classified as a low-hazard substance, making it harmless to humans and the environment. When working with Adengo, follow simple safety rules. Wear protective clothing, a respirator, and latex gloves when handling. Ensure that children and animals are not in the vicinity.
Degree of phytotoxicity
At high temperatures (25 to 30 degrees Celsius) or with sudden temperature fluctuations, chlorosis is highly likely to occur. It will eventually resolve without further negative impact on yield.

Possible compatibility
Adengo is a stand-alone product that combats many types of weeds. However, to kill bindweed, other herbicides are required.
Storage rules and shelf life
The medication is stored in a separate room at a temperature of -5 to +30 degrees Celsius. The shelf life is 3 years from the date of manufacture.
Similar means
The manufacturer claims that there are no analogues to the drug "Adengo".
Adengo herbicide is easy to use thanks to its suspension concentrate formulation. It has a wide application window. Early weed control ensures high yield increases.
