Farmers planting crops in their fields use chemicals to ensure a bountiful harvest. Since weeds choke out the crops and rob them of nutrients, weed killers are essential. The herbicide "Elumis" is a systemic herbicide that effectively controls annual and perennial grass weeds in corn fields.
Composition and existing forms of release
The post-emergence herbicide "Elumis" contains two active ingredients that control weeds: mesotrione at a concentration of 75 grams per liter and nicosulfuron at a concentration of 30 grams per liter. The herbicide is available as an oil dispersion packaged in 20-liter canisters.
Advantages and disadvantages
Farmers using systemic herbicides on corn fields note several undeniable advantages of the drug "Elyumis".

Farmers consider the large volume of the canister containing the product to be a disadvantage of the systemic herbicide, making it inconvenient for use in small areas.
Mode of action
Thanks to the synergy of its two active ingredients, the herbicide "Elumis" is effective even against weeds that are weakly sensitive or resistant to other chemicals. Nicosulfuron penetrates the leaves and stems of weeds and inhibits protein synthesis in plant tissue. Mesotrione blocks photosynthesis, killing the weeds.
Preparation of working solution
The effectiveness of the treatment depends on the correct preparation of the working fluid.

They operate as follows:
- Half the required amount of water is poured into the sprayer tank, after first cleaning it from mechanical particles so that the sprayer does not become clogged.
- Pour in the recommended amount of herbicide and turn on the mixer.
- Wait until the drug is completely dissolved and add the remaining liquid.
- Mix thoroughly again until smooth.
The working solution is prepared immediately before processing the field so that it does not lose its effectiveness.
Consumption rate
The application rate of the preparation directly depends on the weeds that predominate in the corn fields:
- To destroy annual weeds, you will need 1.4 to 1.5 liters per hectare of plantings.
- To control perennial weeds, use 1.7 to 2.0 liters per hectare of field.
Instructions for use
Corn crops should be treated for weeds in dry, clear weather with minimal wind speed to prevent the herbicide from spreading to neighboring fields. After spraying, dispose of any remaining solution according to safety regulations. Never spill the herbicide into nearby bodies of water or onto the soil.

Security measures
When working with chemicals, always wear protective clothing to prevent any droplets from coming into contact with your skin. Protect your respiratory system with a respirator, and wear a headscarf or cap.
After completing the treatment, wash your face with soap and take a shower. Work clothes are washed and hung outside to air.
Degree of toxicity
The herbicide "Elumis" belongs to toxicity class 3, meaning it's classified as moderately hazardous. When working with it, ensure that no droplets of the product fall into water bodies, and notify nearby apiary owners of the upcoming treatment.
Possible compatibility
Thanks to its two active ingredients, the herbicide performs its intended task independently. However, if necessary, it can also be used in tank mixes with other chemicals. The exception is products containing sulfonylurea, and its use in combination with fertilizers is not recommended.

How and how long can it be stored?
The herbicide's shelf life is 3 years from the date of manufacture, provided the original packaging is intact and the storage instructions are followed. The chemical should be stored in a dark and dry place, with a recommended temperature of 5 to 30 degrees Celsius.
Analogues
The only drug that is an analogue of Elumis is Miladar Duo, it contains the same active ingredients.
