Unwanted vegetation is a constant battle in grain fields. The fewer weeds there are, the more nutrients, moisture, and nutrients the crops receive. Pesticide spraying is an effective control method. One promising crop protection product is the systemic herbicide "Primadonna." It effectively controls annual and perennial broadleaf weeds.
Composition and existing forms of release
It is available as a suspension emulsion packaged in a 5-liter plastic container. Ingredients:
- D-acid (in the form of 2-ethylhexyl ester) in the amount of 200 grams per liter;
- florasulam – 3.7 grams per liter.
Mechanism of action
Florasulam inhibits the biosynthesis of essential amino acids in sensitive plants. It suppresses plant species resistant to other chemicals.
D-acid, thanks to its formulation, quickly penetrates the structure of plants and begins to act.
The two components work in tandem, with the first results visible within 3-4 days. During this period, the active ingredients spread throughout all plant cells, preventing them from developing. Within 14-20 days, the weeds are completely destroyed.
Pros and cons
As a result of research conducted at agrochemical industry facilities, the effectiveness of using Primadonna in comparison with other preparations on cereal crops was revealed.

Primadonna herbicide has no drawbacks. It's just important to take all necessary precautions when using the chemical.
In what cases is it used?
"Primadonna" is used to destroy annual and perennial dicotyledonous weeds:
- ragweed;
- thistle;
- speedwell;
- highlander;
- mustard;
- Marie;
- sow thistle;
- shepherd's purse and other varieties of self-seeding.

How fast does it work?
After spraying the fields, weed growth ceases within 24 hours. The first signs of effect are observed within 3-4 days. Depending on weather conditions and the weed species, final death occurs within 2-3 weeks.
Consumption rate
The average consumption rate of agrochemicals is presented in the table:
| Culture | Pests | Amount of product, kg/ha | Processing method | Working fluid rate |
| Wheat, barley | Annual weeds, some perennial dicotyledons | 0.6-0.9 | Spraying during the tillering phase | 200-300 |
| 0.9 | Spraying in the formation phase into the crop tube | |||
| Corn | Annual weeds, some perennial dicotyledons | 0.6-0.9 | Spraying in the phase of formation of 3-5 true leaves of the crop | |
| 0.75-0.9 | Spraying in the phase of formation of 5-7 true leaves of the crop |
Instructions for use
Prepare the working solution before use. Fill a clean container halfway with water. Gently stir and add the required amount of emulsion. Continue stirring until a uniform consistency is achieved. The manufacturer recommends stirring the solution periodically during spraying.
Safety precautions at work
The herbicide "Primadonna" is classified as hazard class 2. Therefore, when working with this chemical, proceed with extreme caution and observe safety precautions. Workers must wear protective clothing with long sleeves, gloves, a respirator, and a head covering.

Possible compatibility
The product is compatible with most herbicides, pesticides, and pesticides. The best results were achieved when used in combination with Granat, Fenizan, Singer, Ovsyugen, and other products.
Degree of toxicity
Broadleaf plants are not resistant to the herbicide. No negative effects on grain crops were observed after treatment.
Is there resistance?
The dual action of the Primadonna pesticide reduces the likelihood of resistance developing in weeds.

Storage rules and shelf life
The product is stored in a special room designated for chemical storage. Temperatures must be maintained between -10 and +35 degrees Celsius. Store the product in a tightly sealed original packaging. The shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture.
Similar means
Similar drugs with a similar mechanism of action include:
- Assoluta Prime is an oil concentrate with a cutting-edge multifunctional surfactant system. It effectively coats the foliage surface and quickly penetrates the green structure.
- Asterix is a powerful two-component pesticide developed to protect grain and cereal crops from unwanted vegetation.
- "Ballerina" is a herbicide for treating crops of millet, corn, sorghum, and grain crops.
- "Katana" is a selective pesticide, highly effective due to its new formulation.
- "Prima" - similar in principle of action to "Prima Donna", has the same composition with a higher concentration of active ingredients.
The pesticide "Primadonna" quickly destroys not only young weed shoots but also perennial weeds that are resistant to most pesticides. Therefore, farmers actively use this herbicide to ensure high-quality and healthy harvests.
