Treating agricultural land with herbicides helps maintain cleanliness and control weed growth and spread. Let's look at the action and purpose of the herbicide "Ankor 85," its advantages, application guidelines, preparing the solution at the correct dosage, and its consumption. We'll also discuss alternatives and pesticides that it can be combined with.
Composition, dosage form and purpose
Ankor 85 is a long-lasting herbicide used to control weeds in intensively grown commercial gardens. It is also used to treat non-agricultural lands for hogweed infestations and illegal hemp and poppy plantings.
Destroys 1- and 2-lobed annual and perennial weeds, shrub and tree growth, and the effectiveness of the product is observed even with small spraying rates.
The active ingredient in Ankor 85 is sulfometuron-methyl, available at a concentration of 750 g per kg. Manufactured by the Russian company Herbicide Holding, CJSC, it comes in the form of water-dispersible granules in small 150 g packets. Based on its effect on plants, Ankor 85 is classified as a herbicide and pesticide, with its penetration method classifying it as a systemic pesticide and its mode of action classifying it as a non-sequential pesticide.
Mechanism of action
The herbicide "Ankor 85" affects weeds through the foliage and root system, absorbing from the soil. It inhibits root development. It can be applied before emergence or in the fall. When used correctly, the product's effectiveness lasts up to 2 years.

Sulfometuron-methyl penetrates weeds, inhibiting cell division and disrupting enzymatic function. This reduces plant water and nutrient uptake, and growth is stunted. Symptoms of weed suppression are observed 1.5-2 weeks after spraying. Complete plant death occurs within 3-4 weeks in warm, humid weather, and within 5-6 weeks in drought conditions.
Benefits of using

"Ankor 85" has no analogues for herbicide treatment of coniferous plantations in forestry.
Preparation of working solution
Tractor-mounted and backpack sprayers are used for spraying. Maintaining the solution's concentration is crucial for the successful application of the product. Decreasing the concentration reduces the effectiveness of the treatment.
Application instructions: calculation of consumption and number of treatments required
"Ankor 85" is used to spray non-agricultural land and coniferous plantings against annual and perennial weeds and harmful vegetation. The application rate is 100-300 liters per hectare. Weeds are treated during their active growth phase, before they reach budding and flowering.
Application rates vary for non-agricultural areas, ranging from 0.025-0.05 to 0.24-0.35 kg per hectare. Coniferous plantings (cedar, pine, and spruce of various ages) are treated at rates ranging from 0.01-0.02 to 0.15-0.2 kg per hectare. Liquid consumption is the same in all cases: 100-300 l/ha, with a single application.

Precautionary measures
Spray with Ankor 85 in calm weather, at a moderate temperature of 18-20°C (morning or evening). Allow at least 1-1.5 hours before rainfall. Washing the solution off the leaves reduces its effectiveness. It's best to treat weeds early in their development; if they're in the later stages, apply the product at maximum concentrations.
How toxic is it?
"Ankor 85" is classified as a Class 3 hazard for humans and bees and will not enter groundwater. This class corresponds to low-hazard products. When handling the solution, wear protective clothing, thick rubber gloves, a respirator, and plastic goggles. Do not remove clothing during spraying, and do not drink, smoke, or eat anything. Afterward, wash your hands and face with soap and wash your clothes.
What to do in case of poisoning
Poisoning with Ankor 85 is rare, but possible. If the solution splashes on your skin, rinse with water. If it gets into your eyes or mouth, rinse with plenty of water. If symptoms of poisoning occur, take activated charcoal, drink plenty of water, and induce vomiting. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

Possible compatibility
Compatible with glyphosate, imazapyr and chlorsulfuron based products.
How and how long can it be stored?
The shelf life of Ankor 85 herbicide is 5 years from the date of manufacture. Store in its original, tightly sealed or unopened packaging. It is freeze-resistant. Store in a dark, dry place between -30°C and +40°C. Do not store with medications, food, or feed.
Similar means
Anchor 85's active ingredient is replaced by Grange. The herbicide Anchor 85 is a virtually indispensable treatment for uncultivated land and conifer plantings against annual and perennial weeds. It destroys weeds at the early stages of development. It is low-toxic and highly effective, requiring only one application to achieve the desired effect.
