Description of the hybrid tomato variety Izobilny f1 and cultivation in open ground

The Izobilny F1 tomato belongs to the group of early-ripening hybrids. The harvest can be picked as early as mid-July. This tomato is used in salads and other dishes. It can also be preserved for winter. This tomato is intended for propagation in open ground, but it can also be grown under plastic covers. The hybrid is included in the State Register of Vegetable Crops of Russia. It is recommended for cultivation in private gardens and homesteads.

Technical data of the plant

The characteristics and description of the variety are as follows:

1. The first harvest can be obtained approximately 90 days after the seedlings have sprouted.
2. The bush grows in height from 50 to 80 cm. The leaves are small, dark green.
3. The bush bears many fruits, so there's a risk of branches breaking off. It's recommended to tie the bushes to sturdy supports.
4. Reviews from gardeners show that to ensure the formation of a large number of ovaries, it is necessary to remove side shoots.
5. The Izobilny variety is resistant to diseases such as fusarium wilt and tobacco mosaic virus. The plant is also resistant to late blight.
6. The fruits weigh up to 80 g. They have a sweet taste and smooth, medium-thick skin. Inside the fruit are six seed chambers.
7. The berries are spherical, slightly flattened at the top. Tomatoes of this variety are firmly attached to the stems.
8. The fruits are colored pink.

If a farmer follows all the correct agricultural practices, the Izobilny variety can yield up to 10-12 kg of fruit per square meter. This tomato is undemanding to climate conditions. The harvest ripens simultaneously. The small fruits are processed into juice or preserved whole.

Growing in a private garden

Before planting, seeds are treated with aloe vera juice or a weak solution of potassium permanganate to increase the tomato's resistance to external conditions. The seeds are planted in containers with light, fertile soil to a depth of 15 mm. To grow the seedlings, it is recommended to maintain a room temperature of 23 to 25°C.

After the sprouts appear, these indicators are reduced to +17…+18°C.

Plants are pricked out when they have 1-2 leaves. Seedlings begin hardening off 33-35 days before planting.

Before transplanting the seedlings, the soil in the bed is treated with calcium nitrate, holes are made for each plant, into which 1 tablespoon of fertilizer is added, and then the seedlings are planted in the holes.

The soil should be loosened beforehand. It is recommended to add nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers. The bushes should be planted in sunny locations.

To ensure complete adaptation of the seedlings, they are covered from sunlight with a thick white material for 2 days after planting in the soil.

Breeders recommend staking the bushes and removing side shoots. The planting pattern is 0.4 x 0.5 m. Five to seven plants can be planted per square meter per bed. Avoid excessive soil moisture under the bushes, as this can lead to a 30-40% yield loss. To improve gas exchange, loosen the soil under the plants more frequently. This helps control some garden pests.

If harmful insects, caterpillars, and aphids appear in your garden, treat the plant leaves with appropriate pesticides. To combat slugs, it's recommended to treat the soil with ground ash.
