The Japanese Rose tomato is a favorite among gardeners due to its low maintenance, excellent flavor, beautifully shaped fruit (rounded hearts), and unusual blooms. When the bushes begin to bloom, the plants produce a profusion of flowers, temporarily transforming the garden into a patch of decorative flowers. Photos of the flowers and fruits are shown on tomato seed packets.
Japanese Rose tomatoes are used for making salads and tomato juice, canning, fresh, and as an addition to main dishes or meat.

What is a Japanese Rose tomato?
Characteristics and description of the Japanese rose variety:
- The fruits of this variety are distinguished by a beautiful bright pink or raspberry-pink uniform color, which immediately attracts the attention of gardeners and tomato lovers.
- Photos and reviews indicate that the fruit-forming clusters spontaneously form into small bunches. Each cluster contains only 5 or 6 fruits. A single Japanese rose fruit weighs almost 150 grams or slightly more.
- The fruits have a pointed tip, and there is ribbing near the stem. However, this ribbing is small and does not detract from the tomato's appearance.
- A distinctive feature of the tomato is its thin skin. At the same time, it is very strong, preventing the ripe fruit from cracking.
- The tomato has a sweet, sugary flavor; the fruits ripen juicy, have a moderately firm center, and contain few seeds. A single bush can yield up to 6 kg of tomatoes.
- The plant is easy to maintain, so it doesn't require much care. Each bush grows to a height of 0.6–0.8 m. Leaves are present, but few in number. No side shoots are needed.

Japanese Rose tomatoes contain a large amount of vitamins, microelements, and sugar, making them ideal for making purees for small children. Allergists recommend these tomatoes for allergy sufferers, as they won't cause allergic reactions when used in various dishes, such as soups, tomato sauces, and salads.
Thus, the characteristics of the Japanese Rose variety show that this vegetable will be a true highlight of the dinner table. This plant is easy to grow in gardens, so gardeners readily plant bushes in their plots.
How are tomatoes grown?
The photos show that Japanese Rose is a selective variety developed by scientists for growing tomatoes indoors, such as in plastic greenhouses or hothouses. If the region is located in a warm climate, it is permissible to plant the tomatoes directly in open beds near the house.

Before planting seeds in the ground, they should be treated with a special growth stimulant. Some gardeners disinfect them, although this procedure is not mandatory, as all seeds are treated before packaging.
Special attention should be paid to preparing the soil for future seedlings. Humus and washed sand are added to the soil, and the seeds are sown into the soil, buried 1.5–2 cm deep.

The room where the seedlings will be kept should be maintained at a constant temperature, but no higher than 25°C. As soon as the plants emerge from the ground, move the pots to direct sunlight or fluorescent lamps. Every few days, spray the leaves with warm water using a watering can or sprayer.

Planting in greenhouse soil is done in early May, and in open areas not before June. Before planting, loosen the soil and add 1 tablespoon of mineral fertilizer (preferably a complex) to the holes. Plant 2-3 tomato plants per square meter.
For watering, it is recommended to use warm water, which should be used generously but not frequently to water the bushes. When lateral shoots begin to appear, they must be removed. During the season, the plant needs to be fed several times - no more than four times, using a complex fertilizer.
