Developed by Russian breeders, the Kokhava F1 tomato is a first-generation hybrid. This variety is characterized by high yields, early ripening, and immunity to nightshade diseases.
Advantages of a hybrid
The characteristics and description of the Kokhava variety indicate extremely early ripening of the fruit. The bush begins to bear fruit 85-90 days after germination. The plant is suitable for indoor cultivation and is suitable for extended crop rotation.

The bush has medium-sized, dark green leaves and a strong root system. The plant is vegetative, with the first inflorescence forming at the 7th leaf.
Each cluster produces 5-6 round, red, and thick-skinned tomatoes. Each tomato weighs 180-200 g. Fruit set is consistent at both high and low temperatures.
Thanks to the hybrid's improved properties, tomatoes are resistant to late blight. However, damage from biological pests cannot be ruled out. Therefore, if pest damage is detected on the trunk or leaves, the bushes should be treated with a weak solution of potassium permanganate.

The downside of this variety is that it's impossible to obtain seeds from the hybrid for cultivation the following season. With proper care, the Kohava tomato will bear fruit until late autumn.
In cooking, the fruits are used fresh and for canning. Juice is made from large tomatoes.
Cultivation technique
The tomato is a hybrid, so seeds should be purchased from a specialty store. Before planting, it is necessary to prepare the soil mixture and treat the seed material with a solution of potassium permanganate.

This procedure is aimed at preventing crop diseases and improving the plant's immunity. Seeds are planted at a depth of up to 2 cm. The container with the planting material is watered with water from a spray bottle and covered with plastic wrap until the seedlings emerge.
When the first true leaf forms, the plant is pricked out to strengthen its root system. The crop is transplanted to its permanent location at 55 days old. For an early harvest, it is planted in a heated greenhouse.

Plant care involves regular watering, loosening the soil, and periodic application of complex fertilizers according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Recommendations and opinions of vegetable growers
Kohava F1 tomatoes, whose reviews among vegetable growers indicate their popularity, are resistant to tobacco mosaic virus, leaf curl, and cladosporiosis. Cultivation practices have shown that yields per square meter in extended crop rotations can reach 32–34 kg.

Mikhail Dobrolyubov, 58 years old, Borisov:
"Last year, on the recommendation of relatives, I grew the Kokhava variety at my dacha. I'm pleased with the plant's high productivity. I managed to harvest 29 kg of tomatoes from one plant. The clusters are a rich red, just like the ones in the photo of the seed packet. The tomatoes are firm, the flesh is juicy and flavorful, they store well for a long time, and they transport well over long distances."
Irina Filimonova, 52 years old, Pavlovskaya Sloboda:
"I've been passionate about growing tomatoes for many years, so I often plant new varieties in my garden. The Kohava hybrid caught my eye with its shape and rich scarlet color. I grew the seedlings myself from seeds purchased at a specialized store. I placed two seeds per pot, each containing 1.5 cm of soil, into prepared small pots.
I watered the plants with a sprinkler. I covered the pots with plastic wrap and placed them in a warm place until the seeds sprouted. I transplanted the fully formed seedlings in mid-May. Caring for the plants, fertilizing, and mulching the soil allowed me to harvest 30 kg of delicious, aromatic fruit. They store well in a dark place for a long time and retain their flavor.

We planted 50 Kokhava seeds. They all sprouted. Hooray. As soon as the first leaf emerged, we pricked out the seeds. Within a month and a half, all the seedlings died, remaining at the level of the first leaf.
Perhaps the reason was in the ground?
I also bought Kohava F1. I haven't used them yet. It's too early for us because there's still snow outside. We'll try them soon. I'll have Kohava on me. I also bought Vitador. So far, so good. We'll try them again. Good luck to everyone.
Does Kohava really produce around 30 kg of tomatoes?
I planted five Kokhava seeds, and three of them sprouted. The variety really surprised me with its abundance of fruit, and the bush with its tomato clusters looks very attractive. The clusters are fully formed. They taste great, and they're the perfect size for pickling! Next year, I'll be buying two or three packs.
