Characteristics and description of universal Aysan tomatoes, cultivation and care

The Aisan F1 tomato (also known as KS 18) was developed by Japanese breeders. Kitano Seeds sells seeds of this hybrid variety. Aisan tomatoes are a versatile variety that grows equally well in greenhouses of all climate zones, both in hotbeds and in the open field. Thanks to its resilience, flavor, yield, and bright orange fruit, this variety quickly gained recognition among experienced gardeners.

Description and characteristics

The Japanese tomato variety Aisan has the following characteristics:

  • the bushes are determinate, low (on average from 80 to 100 cm);
  • the duration of the growing season is about 80 days;
  • the stem is strong and does not need to be tied to a support;
  • the bush forms itself, there is no need for pinching or removing lower leaves;
  • the plant has a lot of foliage, which protects it from the effects of excess sun and possible burns;
  • On 1 bush there can be from 6 to 7 clusters, on each of which 4 to 5 fruits are formed.

Aysan tomatoes

Experienced gardeners report that one bush can produce 6-7 kg of tomatoes, provided it is well cared for and agricultural practices are followed.

Aysan F1 tomatoes weigh 200-250 grams. A brief description of the tomato: large, round. The taste is sweet, without a sour aftertaste. Beneath the firm yet tender skin lies juicy, fleshy flesh. Aysan tomatoes are sometimes compared to orange apples.

Advantages of the variety

In addition to excellent taste and marketable appearance, Aisan tomatoes are transportable thanks to their excellent shelf life: thanks to their dense skin, they do not wrinkle or crack.

A distinctive feature of yellow tomatoes is the absence of the pigment lycopene, making them safe for young children and those allergic to red foods. Furthermore, these yellow fruits are rich in vitamins B and C, as well as other beneficial nutrients.

Eating these tomatoes has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system and improves the function of other organs, including the liver, kidneys, and pancreas. Aysan tomatoes retain their beneficial properties even when cooked (their vitamin C content even increases).

Ways to increase crop yields

To increase the yield of the Aisan tomato variety, you should follow simple agricultural rules:

  1. Once a week, fertilize the seedlings with universal liquid fertilizer for vegetable plants.
  2. When transferring seedlings to their main growing location, lightly sprinkle the holes with ash and also use fertilizer to strengthen the roots.
  3. Before planting, remove all weak and broken leaves from small plants.
  4. When planting, adhere to a pattern of 1.5 m between rows of plants and 40-50 cm between the bushes themselves.
  5. The optimal method of irrigation is drip irrigation.
  6. After transplanting, young plants should be watered for the first 10-15 days.
  7. To mulch the soil, use hay, straw or finely chopped grass.

Description of tomato

The plant requires timely fertilization and feeding. Regular weeding and loosening of the beds should not be neglected.

By using growth accelerating products, the Aisan tomato harvest can be obtained earlier than promised by the producers.

Tomato Aysan

Another undeniable advantage of the Aysan tomato is its resistance to various nightshade diseases. However, the fruits should be protected from birds and mice, which often feed on them.
