"Gliocladin" is a microbiological product that helps combat fungal and bacterial infections. It can be used on a variety of crops, including houseplants, vegetables, fruit trees, and berry bushes. To ensure the product is effective, it's important to follow the instructions carefully and adhere to the recommended dosage. Adherence to safety precautions is also crucial.
What is included in the composition, existing forms of release and who produces it
The active ingredient is Trichoderma harzianum VIZR-18. It is a fungal culture. Essentially, the preparation consists of dried fungal hyphae. These are the microscopic threads that form the mycelium. Most experts consider Trichoderma and Gliocladium to be analogous.
The drug is available as tablets. It is sold in bottles of 100 tablets or in 50 tablets in two cardboard blisters. Gliocladin is also available as a powder or suspension concentrate.
The suspension is primarily used for treating large areas. However, the tablets can be used for seedlings and houseplants.

Mechanism of operation
The active ingredient forms a well-developed mycelium in the soil and reproduces by spores. The product competes with and antagonizes pathogenic fungi, parasitizing them. Due to its high potency, the substance inhibits the growth of pathogenic fungi, causing the disintegration of their mycelium and subsequent death.

Purpose of the product
The product has a wide range of applications. It is used for medicinal purposes and for disinfecting soil when transplanting seedlings to their permanent location. The following results can be achieved by using the substance:
- restore normal soil microflora;
- stop the development of pathogenic fungi.
The product is effective in consistently moist outdoor soils. It can also be used on indoor plants whose soil should not be allowed to dry out. These include azaleas and myrtles.

This remedy is particularly effective against putrefactive diseases. It can be used to treat the following conditions:
- late blight;
- Alternaria;
- fusarium;
- pythiosis;
- Rhizoctonia;
- Verticillium wilt.
How to make a working mixture
For small areas, a tablet formulation is suitable. It should be applied manually or using a dispenser. The tablets do not need to be mixed with water or used to treat above-ground plant parts. If necessary, the formulation can be crushed. However, this is usually not necessary, as the tablets are quite loose and easily disintegrate during watering.

For treating large areas, a suspension solution can be used. To do this, mix the required amount of concentrate with a specific amount of water.
Terms of Use
When using the product, it's important to remember that it's not suitable for spraying crops. The compound should be applied directly to the soil. Its effect persists in the upper structures of the soil, where air is available.
The optimal conditions for Gliokladin are considered to be a depth of no more than 8 centimeters, a temperature of 20-25 degrees Celsius, and humidity of 60-80%. The soil pH should be 4.5-6. Minor deviations in pH slow down the development of the mushroom mycelium.

For indoor plants
Gliocladin is often used for flowers and seedlings. When repotting houseplants, one tablet should be placed per pot. However, for a container larger than 17 centimeters in diameter, three tablets will be required. For containers larger than 20 centimeters, four tablets should be used. In this case, the product should be placed at equal intervals around the roots.
It's important to remember that tablets should not be inserted deeper than 7 centimeters, that the container should not be kept at temperatures below 20°C or above 25°C, and that alkaline or neutral soil should not be used. All these factors slow down the development of beneficial fungi. It takes 5-7 days for mycelium to develop, after which harmful fungi are suppressed. However, in advanced cases, the drug may not produce noticeable results.

For open ground plants
To use the product outdoors, apply one tablet per plant or the same amount per 300 milliliters of water. When using the product on shrubs and seedlings, apply 3-4 tablets per crop. If bacterial infections are present in the soil, antibiotics should be used in addition.

Precautionary measures
The product is classified as hazard class 4. This means it poses virtually no risk to humans, animals, or beneficial insects. However, standard safety precautions must be observed when using the product.
When handling plants, do not eat, drink, or smoke. It is recommended to wear gloves when handling. In case of poisoning, it is important to provide first aid. This depends on the location of the injury:
- If the substance comes into contact with the skin or mucous membranes, it must be washed off with a large volume of running water.
- If the substance is accidentally ingested, perform a gastric lavage and take activated charcoal. The recommended dose is 1 gram per kilogram of body weight.
- If the substance is inhaled, the person should be moved to fresh air. Treatment is symptomatic.

Possible compatibility
For excellent results, Gliokladin can be combined with biological products such as Gamair or Alirin-B. These products complement each other and provide effective plant protection.
How and how long can it be stored?
The product has a shelf life of 2 years. It should be stored in a dry place in an airtight container. The temperature should be between -30 and +30 degrees Celsius. Keep the product out of the reach of children and pets. Keep away from food products.

What can be used as a replacement?
Trichodermin is considered an analogue of Gliokladin. It is available in powder and suspension forms. Its active ingredient is also considered to be the Trichoderma fungus.
Gliocladin is an effective medication that can be used to combat a wide range of fungal infections. To ensure the desired results, it is important to follow the instructions carefully. Adherence to safety precautions is also essential.
