Plant diseases damage fruit and vegetable crops and significantly reduce harvest yields. To prevent the spread of pathogens, many farmers and gardeners use chemicals. The fungicide Nativo is used to prevent and treat diseases such as rubella and black rot. The instructions for use specify dosage and application guidelines.
Composition, existing forms of release and purpose
Gardeners are increasingly turning to two-component crop protection products. Their different effects on pathogens make them much more effective than single-component fungicides. Nativo contains the active ingredients tebuconazole and trifloxystrobin. One kilogram of Nativo contains 500 grams of the former, and 250 grams of the latter.
This systemic fungicide, developed by the German company Bayer, is sold as water-soluble granules packaged in 2 kg containers. It is used to combat black rot and rubella on vegetable and fruit crops.
Mechanism of action
The principle of the fungicide’s effective action is based on the work of two active components:
- Trifloxystrobin belongs to the class of strobilurins, which have a mesosystemic effect. The substance forms a protective film on the surface of fruits and leaves, preventing pathogenic microorganisms from penetrating the tissues.
- Tebuconazole belongs to the class of triazoles, characterized by systemic action. This component disrupts sterol synthesis, which is essential for the formation of bacterial cell walls.
Advantages and disadvantages

Those who have already used the Nativo fungicide to treat crops on their plots have highlighted the chemical's main advantages.
The advantages of Nativo include:
- Effective in killing pathogens on many crops, eliminating the need to purchase different preparations.
- Lack of resistance due to a unique combination of components with different mechanisms of action.
- Can be used throughout the entire growing season.
- Effectiveness of use both as a preventative measure and for the treatment of diseases.
Among the disadvantages, gardeners note the rather high cost of the chemical product.
Calculation of consumption
Achieving the expected result depends on following the recommended dosage. Application rates are presented in the table.
| Cultivated crop | Disease | Application rate | Number of treatments |
| Apple trees | Scab and powdery mildew | From 300 to 350 grams per hectare of garden | No more than 2 times |
| Vine | Rubella, black rot and oidium | From 160 to 180 grams per hectare of plantation | No more than 3 times per season |
| Potatoes and cucumbers | Powdery mildew and anthracnose | From 250 to 350 grams per hectare of field | No more than 2 times per season |
| Tomatoes | Cladosporiosis and powdery mildew | From 250 to 350 grams per hectare | No more than 2 times per season |
How to prepare a working mixture
The spray mixture is prepared before use to ensure it remains effective. Add half the amount of purified water to the sprayer tank. Add the manufacturer's recommended amount of granules and mix thoroughly. Then add the remaining water and restart the mixer.
Instructions for use
It's recommended to spray plants on a clear day when rain is not expected, as the product needs time to form a protective film on the crop surface. This should be done in the morning or evening, when wind speed is minimal. Systemic fungicide use is permitted throughout the growing season, but it should be timed so that at least 20 days remain before harvest.

Safety precautions and phytotoxicity
Before starting treatment, prepare protective equipment. Wear overalls, gloves, and a scarf around your head. A respirator is essential to prevent inhalation of chemical vapors. After finishing working with the fungicide, wash your face with soap and take a shower. No cases of phytotoxicity have been reported when the application rates are met.
Possible compatibility
The systemic fungicide Nativo can be combined with other products in tank mixes. However, a test using a small amount of the chemicals to be mixed is necessary beforehand.
How to store
Store the fungicide in a utility room out of reach of children and pets. Make sure it's not exposed to direct sunlight and the temperature doesn't exceed 30 degrees Celsius.
Similar means
There is no complete alternative to Nativo. If a replacement is needed, purchase the fungicide Shirlan or Altima.
