Serkadis Plus instructions for use, fungicide dosage, and analogues

Scab and powdery mildew on apple and pear trees are familiar to almost every gardener. To treat these diseases, plants need to be treated with fungicides at different stages of their development. Let's look at the composition of Sercadis Plus, how it works, its purpose, and how to properly use it when spraying the garden. What products can it be combined with, how to store it, and what alternatives can be used.

Composition and release forms

Sercadis Plus is produced by BASF as a suspension concentrate in 5-liter canisters and 1-liter bottles. It contains two active ingredients: difeconazole at a concentration of 50 g per liter and fluxapyroxad at a concentration of 75 g per liter. These substances belong to the triazole-carboxamide group. It is a systemic pesticide with contact action. It can be used for both fungal protection and treatment.

Operating principle and purpose

Fluxapyroxad is a new substance with a unique molecular structure that delivers a rapid effect. It quickly penetrates fungal barriers, reaching its target sites. Fluxapyroxad has increased mobility compared to other carboxamide compounds. When sprayed, the substance penetrates leaves and quickly spreads throughout the tissue. Difenoconazole inhibits fungal growth, ultimately killing the fungus.

"Serkadis Plus" is intended for spraying apple and pear trees against scab and powdery mildew.

Terms of Use

This fungicide provides long-lasting protection against fungi and works at various temperatures (optimally 10-25°C) and in rainy weather. It is recommended for both preventative and curative spraying. The product is most effective when used as a preventative, so it is recommended to spray before the first signs of disease appear.

The application rate is 0.8-1 liter per hectare of plantings. Spray three times per season: during the inflorescence stage, then during flowering and fruit development, with a 7-10 day interval between sprays. 800-1000 liters of solution are used per hectare of orchard. The period until harvest of apple and pear trees is 30 days from the last treatment.

Precautionary measures

Sercadis Plus has moderate toxicity and is classified as a Class 3 pesticide for humans and bees. It should not be used in gardens near bodies of water.

To protect yourself from contact with the fungicide solution, you should wear thick clothing that covers your body from splashes, a respirator and goggles that cover your eyes and nose, and gloves on your hands.

After spraying the trees, wash your hands and face with soap. If the solution comes into contact with your skin, rinse with water. Rinse your eyes if the solution gets into them. If signs of poisoning appear—nausea, weakness, headache, or dizziness—stop working and leave the garden. In case of severe poisoning, perform gastric lavage: take several tablets of activated charcoal followed by at least 1 liter of water.

Is compatibility possible?

Sercadis Plus can be combined with other garden protection products. For a more pronounced effect, it is recommended to alternate it with products containing active ingredients from other chemical classes. When alternating products, the manufacturer recommends using the following schedule: apply Sercadis Plus during the flowering stage, followed by a product with a different active ingredient, combined with the Delan fungicide.

When preparing a mixture with a drug of unknown compatibility, conduct a preliminary test: dilute both drugs in a small volume and then mix the solutions. The solutions are compatible if they do not react with each other, meaning there is no change in the solution's temperature, color, or density, and no precipitation occurs.

Storage conditions and periods

Sercadis Plus has a shelf life of 3 years from the date of production. Store the concentrate in its original packaging at temperatures between -5 and +40°C. Store in a dry, dark place away from sunlight and moisture. Do not store food, medications, animal feed, or household products near the fungicide.
