Weeds pose a serious problem for farmers who plant grain in their fields. The weeds rob the crops of nutrients and choke them, resulting in a missed harvest. To control the weeds, farmers are forced to resort to chemicals. The instructions for the herbicide "Greneri" state that it is effective against both annual and perennial weeds and can be used in garden plots.
Composition, dosage form and purpose
The systemic herbicide "Greneri" is designed to control annual and perennial broadleaf weeds. This chemical contains a single active ingredient, tribenuron-methyl (sulfonylurea), which is characterized by selective action. One kilogram of "Greneri" contains 750 grams of the active ingredient.
The chemical is sold as water-dispersible granules packaged in 250-gram bottles. The herbicide's instructions state that it is suitable for use in fields sown with grain crops and in private gardens to control weeds.
Mechanism of action
The active ingredient of the herbicide penetrates the weed tissue and inhibits its growth and development. After some time, the weeds are completely destroyed. The appearance of the first symptoms of plant damage (yellowing, dryness, and depletion) depends on the weed's resistance, the stage of development, and the weather conditions during the treatment.
The chemical agent is most effective when applied at the 2-4 leaf stage of weeds.
In this case, the weed dies within a week of spraying. However, within a few hours, the grass stops growing and ceases competing with crops for nutrients and moisture. This allows for abundant harvests of high-quality grain.

Advantages over analogues
Owners of small garden plots and farmers growing crops on an industrial scale have come to appreciate the effectiveness of the herbicide "Greneri." They cite the following advantages of the chemical:
- low herbicide consumption and, accordingly, low cost of treatment;
- absence of phytotoxicity provided that the manufacturer's recommended application rates are observed;
- convenience of the formulation (granules dissolve well when preparing the working liquid);
- effective destruction of almost all types of dicotyledonous weeds;
- the active substance is resistant to any temperature conditions and precipitation.

Farmers consider the only drawback of the herbicide "Greneri" to be the development of resistance when using the chemical for several years in a row. It is recommended to alternate the use of "Greneri" with other pesticides.
Calculation of consumption
The speed of weed control and the safety of grain crops depend on how accurately the herbicide rate is calculated.
The manufacturer's instructions indicate the following application rates for the chemical:
| Cultivated plants | Herbicide rate | Consumption of working solution | Number of treatments |
| Spring wheat and barley, as well as oats | From 15 to 20 grams per hectare of plantings (depending on the degree of weed infestation) | From 200 to 300 liters of liquid per hectare of field | Once per season |
| Winter wheat, barley, and oats | From 20 to 25 grams per hectare of field (depending on the degree of weed infestation) | From 200 to 300 liters of solution per hectare of field | Once per season |

Cultivation of fields with cultivated plants begins at the initial stages of weed growth, which helps achieve the set goal and prevent the emergence of a second wave of weeds.
How to prepare a working mixture
The working solution is prepared in special areas, which are then disinfected. This must be done immediately before treatment, otherwise the Greneri herbicide will lose its effectiveness.
Prepare the working composition according to the following instructions:
- Pour water into the bucket (a quarter of the total volume) and add the amount of herbicide indicated in the instructions.
- Stir until the granules are completely dissolved and add water, just short of reaching the edge of the bucket.
- The mother solution is poured into the sprayer tank, half filled with water, and the mixer is turned on.
- Once a uniform consistency has been achieved, add water to the full volume and mix thoroughly again.

Instructions for use
In its instructions for use, the manufacturer of the herbicide "Greneri" recommends spraying weeds in the morning or evening, when it's not too hot. The optimal speed on the day of application is no more than 4 m/s. It's best to avoid rain on the day, so check the weather forecast beforehand.
Precautionary measures
Farmers working with the chemical must use protective equipment to prevent droplets from coming into contact with their skin, eyes, or respiratory tract. After finishing work, they must shower, wash all clothing, and hang it outside to air.

How toxic is it?
The herbicide "Greneri" belongs to toxicity class 3 for humans, warm-blooded animals, and honeybees. It is advisable to notify nearby apiary owners of the day the field will be treated.
Possible compatibility
Using Greneri with other chemicals is permitted after a preliminary compatibility test. The only contraindication applies to products containing organophosphorus compounds.
Expiration date and storage rules
The herbicide should be stored away from sunlight, and children and pets should be restricted from access to the utility room. The shelf life of "Greneri" is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
Similar means
If necessary, the herbicide "Greneri" can be replaced with chemicals such as "Granilin", "Amstar" or "Trizlak".
