Farmers with large fields and growing crops for sale cannot do without crop protection products. Manual control of weeds that choke out crops is impossible, so chemicals are used. The herbicide "Select" is a cutting-edge development that effectively kills both perennial and annual weeds in sugar beet, rapeseed, and sunflower fields.
Composition and existing forms of release
Select is a post-emergence herbicide with contact, selective, and selective action. It has only recently appeared on the market for agricultural chemicals, but has already earned positive reviews due to its numerous advantages. The active ingredient in this herbicide is clethodim. One liter of the product contains 120 grams of it.
Select is produced in the form of a concentrate and emulsion and is packaged in 5-liter plastic canisters, which is very convenient for owners of small fields.
Advantages of the product

Mechanism of operation
After weed treatment, the active ingredient clethodim instantly migrates to the growth points of weeds, both underground and aboveground, and destroys them. Furthermore, using Select prevents re-sprouting of perennial grass weeds. Two hours after spraying, the herbicide begins blocking photosynthesis and cell division in weeds.
What weeds does it work on?
The herbicide "Select" effectively destroys about 40 varieties of annual and perennial cereal weeds, including volunteer cereals, creeping wheatgrass, foxtail, annual mint grass, and barnyard grass.

How long does the effect last?
Applying a herbicide to kill weeds is necessary once per season. Weeds are killed within two weeks, and re-spraying is not necessary.
Calculation of consumption
To achieve the desired effect from using Select, it is necessary to correctly calculate the dosage of the drug.
| Cultivated plant | A type of weed | The dosage rate of the drug |
| Soybeans, winter and spring rape | Annual cereal weeds | From 500 to 700 ml per hectare of field |
| Sunflower and all types of beets | Annual cereal weeds | From 600 to 700 ml per hectare of field |
| Sunflower and all types of beets, soybeans, winter and spring rape | Perennial weeds | From 1.6 l to 1.8 l per hectare of field |
How to prepare a working solution
It is recommended to prepare the working solution immediately before spraying crops. Use clean water, free of mechanical impurities, to prevent particles from getting stuck in the sprayer later. Fill the sprayer halfway with the solution, add the prescribed amount, and turn on the stirrer. Once the solution is completely dissolved in the water, add more liquid until the solution is full. If excessive foam forms during the mixing process, add antifoaming agents.
Rules of application
Begin spraying annual weeds when they reach 3-5 cm in height. Perennial weeds are treated when they reach 15-20 cm in height. The instructions recommend spraying in either the morning or evening. Spraying can also be done during the day if the weather is cloudy and cool. The recommended air temperature is between 8 and 25 degrees Celsius.

Rainfall within two hours of application will not affect the product's effectiveness. However, prolonged drought reduces the herbicide's performance.
Precautionary measures
When working with herbicides, basic safety precautions must be observed. Protect your respiratory tract and body from the working solution by wearing a respirator and protective suit. After weed treatment, all protective clothing should be washed and hung outdoors to air. The farmer spraying should shower to remove any herbicide residue that accidentally comes into contact with the skin. Smoking and eating are prohibited during the spraying process.
Phytotoxicity
When the recommended dosage of the herbicide was observed, no cases of phytotoxicity were detected.

Possible compatibility
The herbicide "Select" can be used in tank mixes after compatibility testing. The only thing to avoid is using it in combination with fertilizers.
How to store and shelf life
In its original sealed packaging, the herbicide has a shelf life of 2 years. Once opened, the contents must be used within one month.
Despite the drug's low hazard to humans, it should be stored away from children and pets, preferably in a separate utility room, away from sunlight, and at a temperature between 8 and 28 degrees Celsius.
Analogues
If the herbicide "Select" is not available in the store, it can be replaced with similar products such as "Centurion", "Blade", "Darwin", "Kozak".
