Growing carrots

The best place for carrots is a sandy-clay bed in full sun. The variety grows well in areas previously occupied by tomatoes, legumes, cabbage, herbs, and onions. The soil is prepared in the fall. It is fertilized with minerals, humus, sprinkled with ash, and dug thoroughly.

Large carrots

It's best to germinate the seeds before planting. Rinse them and place them in a damp cloth for several days. Periodically moisten the cloth with water, making sure it doesn't dry out. The seeds will soon sprout. After this, place the seeds in a weak solution of potassium permanganate.

The seeds are transplanted to their permanent location in May. The outside temperature should be around 10ºC. The seeds are placed in furrows at a depth of 2-3 cm, with the distance between furrows approximately 20 cm. The seeds should not be sown too densely. Planting too densely can negatively impact root development.

Before planting, water the soil generously. After planting, this is no longer necessary. If frost occurs, cover the carrot beds with spunbond. Seedlings usually emerge at the same time, and the fruits ripen at the same time.

Carrot harvest

Experienced gardeners say this variety doesn't require any special care. The plant thrives and produces a good harvest, provided it's watered and weeded regularly.

The bushes need to be thinned out several times. The first procedure is performed before the paired leaves reach 1 cm in height. Weak shoots are removed. The next procedure is performed when the plant has grown to a larger size. Then, weak shoots are removed, making room for the ripening of strong root vegetables.

Several times during the season, carrots are fed with mineral fertilizers and manure infusions.

Watering is done primarily in the evening with settled water. Approximately 4-8 liters of water are used per square meter. During hot weather, slightly more water is required. Weeding and loosening of the beds is necessary on a regular basis.

The crop yields high results. 1 m² yields 5-10 kg of root vegetables. This variety can be harvested both manually and mechanically. The carrots are harvested as soon as they are ripe. Before harvesting, the carrots are not watered for a week and a half. Ripe carrots are a rich orange color, medium in size, sweet, and juicy.

Hybrid carrot

Versatile. Carrots can be used in dietary and baby food, as well as for canning. This variety is ideal for preparing a variety of dishes and preserving for the winter.

Carrots can be stored raw all winter in a cellar or vegetable pits.

For successful storage, certain rules must be followed during harvesting. The entire root vegetable bed is dug up at once. The carrots are sorted and the tops are trimmed. The carrots are placed in boxes in layers, with sand or pine shavings sandwiched between the layers.

I love the fact that this carrot is medium-sized. This gives it a rich aroma and flavor. The variety is well-adapted to our climate, so you can use just the bioactivator.BioGrow".
