Difference from standard varieties

Myazina's tomato collection includes early varieties that produce their first fruits just 90 days after germination. Mid-season varieties are ready for consumption 115 days after germination.

These characteristics make it possible to cultivate plants in regions with short summers.

The fruits are suitable not only for fresh consumption but also for preserves. They do not crack during ripening or after heat treatment. Distinguishing characteristics of Myazina tomatoes include:

  • excellent taste;
  • resistance to diseases and negative impacts of pests;
  • high yield rates;
  • good adaptability to environmental conditions.

The Pros and Cons of Growing Myazina Tomatoes

Lyubov Anatolyevna Myazina produces and distributes tomato varieties with numerous advantages over competitors. Chief among these is her exclusive use of natural pollination methods, meaning she works exclusively by hand. For many years, she has been selecting and cultivating the best tomato varieties.

Thanks to this, the author’s collection does not contain genetically modified tomatoes, the consumption of which is unsafe for health.

Myazina tomatoes have no significant drawbacks. Gardeners simply note that obtaining planting material can be quite difficult, especially in remote areas.

The harvested crop is used for fresh consumption and canning. The fruits do not crack, are suitable for transportation, have excellent flavor, and a pleasing presentation. Tomatoes come in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes.

Sowing and cultivation technology

The timing of sowing Myazina's tomato seedlings is determined based on the variety's characteristics and the region's climate. You can use either seedlings or direct sowing. The soil mixture for sowing can be prepared at home or purchased from a store. The soil should be nutritious, loose, and have good air permeability. First, the soil is disinfected using any known method.

Before planting, the seeds are soaked in a weak solution of potassium permanganate for 20 minutes, then washed and placed in a growth stimulator for a couple of hours.

Hybrids don't need this treatment. Sow at a depth of 1.5 cm, leaving a 3 cm gap between the seeds. Sprinkle a peat mixture over the seeds and cover with plastic wrap until the first shoots emerge. To prevent the seedlings from becoming leggy, remove the covering immediately when the first loops appear.

Place the tomato boxes in a warm location, keeping the soil constantly moist. As soon as two true leaves form, transplant the tomatoes into separate containers. A week before planting outdoors, harden off the plants by bringing them outdoors. The first time, leave them outside for just an hour, and then increase the time each day thereafter.

Proper care of tomatoes

Fourteen days after planting tomatoes in the garden, treat them with Abiga-Peak to prevent disease. Pinching the tops (leaving two leaves above the cluster) will allow all the tomatoes to fill out and ripen. The plants require regular loosening, weeding, and fertilizing. If grown in a greenhouse, it should be well-ventilated.

tomato brushes

Fertilize with alternating mineral and organic mixtures. It's important not to overfeed the seedlings and to strictly adhere to the dosage recommended on the packaging. Watering should also be moderate, otherwise the taste and commercial qualities of tomatoes will deteriorate.

Reviews from summer residents

Those who have planted Myazina tomatoes in their gardens have personally experienced all the advantages and disadvantages of the varieties featured in the collection. They are happy to share their impressions.

Valentina Pavlovna, a summer resident: "Last year, I ordered several varieties from the breeder Myazina on the recommendation of my daughter, who had read many positive reviews about her. I was most pleased with the Liqueur tomato. The fruits were small but very tasty. The yield from each plant was a pleasant surprise. The tomatoes ripened early; in the neighboring plot, none of the varieties had ripened yet. I was very pleased and have already prepared my own seeds for next season."

Vitaly Dmitrievich, gardener: "I tried growing the 'Lilac Fog' tomato from Myazina. I liked not only the taste but also the unusual burgundy color of the large fruits. The yield isn't very high, but you can enjoy fresh, beautiful, and delicious fruits all season long. We managed to make some more preserves for the winter. I'll definitely plant a few more plants next season."

Sergey Veniaminovich, a retired gardener: "I tried many tomato varieties on my plot, but I couldn't find the right one for a long time. I ordered several from the breeder Myazina, including Lada and the Zolotaya Teshcha hybrid. I must admit, I was skeptical about hybrids before, not believing they could have good flavor. After experimenting, my opinion changed. Both varieties turned out to be excellent, and I'll definitely grow them again. The only problem is that I have to buy new seeds every year; I can't collect them myself."

    I really liked the "Frigate" variety; I'll be planting it next time. The yield is good, and I haven't encountered any diseases. The tomatoes grew to a medium size, with a quite vibrant flavor.

    I bought Armenian Yellow tomatoes in 2020 and really liked them. They're large and hold up very well on thick branches. And what a taste: buttery, juicy, delicious! I've never grown them like this before, never seen them (though there weren't many). I bought more seeds in 2021, but they weren't quite the same: curly bushes and the side shoots were hard to manage, and there were almost no fruits. In 2022, I planted them again from this package and the same thing happened again. Too bad! I want to enjoy these tomatoes more!
