The Bravy General tomato is highly resistant to various diseases. It is prized for its excellent flavor. It can be grown outdoors in various regions of Russia. This variety was developed by Altai breeders. Tomatoes of this type are used for salads and canning.
Brief information about the plant
The characteristics and description of the Brave General variety are as follows:
- These tomatoes ripen relatively early.
- The height of the plant bush can vary from 90 to 100 cm. The stem is covered with leaves by 40-45%.
- Simple inflorescences develop on the stem, the first of which appears above the 7th or 8th leaf.
- The inflorescences may produce 1-3 fruits, resembling a slightly flattened spheroid with small ribs. Inside the tomato are 6, and sometimes more, chambers containing seeds.
- During the growth process, the fruits of this variety turn pink, and during the ripening period they become raspberry-colored.
- The average fruit weight is 240-260 g, but reviews from farmers who have planted this tomato variety show that many gardeners have managed to grow fruits weighing 400-600 g, and the most successful gardeners have grown fruits weighing up to 1 kg.

The characteristics and photos of the Bravy General variety can be found in various agricultural catalogs. Seeds for this tomato are best purchased from specialized seed farms, although some farmers obtain their own.
In the Far North and Siberia, Bravy General tomatoes are best grown in greenhouses, as they do not tolerate the sudden temperature fluctuations typical of continental climates. In central Russia, this variety grows well both in open ground and in unheated greenhouses.

Some farmers who have planted this variety outdoors point out the need to tie the bushes to a sturdy support, as the stems may not be able to support the weight of the growing fruit. This is done when the side shoots reach 20-25 mm in length. The variety produces high yields, but breeders believe Bravy General has potential for further development and increased yields.
Growing seedlings and large fruits
Gardeners often complain that tomato seedlings become very elongated and the plants begin to shade each other, causing the shoots to have a pale color.

To slow seedling growth, it's recommended to lower the room temperature to 16°C. Keep the plants at this temperature for a week. However, they need to be well-lit with a special lamp in March. Most often, 90-120 minutes of supplemental light is sufficient for the seedlings.
While the seedlings are developing, they need to be fed with mineral and humic fertilizers. This can be done up to four times during the seedlings' growth period. If the gardener notices that the seedlings are growing taller and taller each year, they should be planted later. Short seedlings better withstand the stress of being planted outdoors.

It is recommended to plant Bravy General seedlings in nested beds. Each plant should be allocated a plot of 0.5 x 0.7 or 0.7 x 0.7 m.
Adequate watering is essential. This variety requires up to 20 liters of water per bush. Plants should receive the required amount of mineral and other fertilizers, applied to the soil at a rate of up to 40 g/m². In the fall, mineral fertilizers are replaced with manure at a rate of 3-4 kg/m². Fertilize plants once every two weeks. You can alternate mineral and liquid fertilizers; this does not affect tomato growth.

When growing the Bravy General variety in southern Russia, it's important to remember that at temperatures of 26 to 27°C and above, pollination of the plant's flowers will cease. The first ovaries that appear will not produce fruit under such conditions. To prevent this negative effect, it's recommended to shade the plantings with a tent.
When garden pests appear, it is recommended to spray tomato bushes with preparations that destroy various insects.
