Fungal diseases cause significant damage to agricultural crops, so farmers and home gardeners use fungicides both for prevention and to treat already infected plants. What is included in the composition and dosage form
The single-component fungicide "Triafol" contains the active ingredient flutriafol, a triazole chemical that effectively kills fungal pathogens. One liter of the product contains 250 grams of the active ingredient. This fungicide is sold as a suspension concentrate, packaged in 5-liter plastic containers with screw-on lids.
The chemical pesticide is available both online and in brick-and-mortar stores. The fungicide is manufactured by AFD Chemicals.
Mechanism of operation
The fungicide "Triafol" is characterized by a prolonged action, thanks to its active ingredient. The active ingredient immediately penetrates the treated crop through the leaves and begins to spread throughout the plant. Because flutriafol follows the growth points, it provides protection against fungal pathogens and young shoots.
Since Triafol's active ingredient exhibits both contact and systemic action and fungicidal activity, it is effective for both treating already diseased crops and for preventative treatments. Among single-component fungicides, flutriafol-based products are particularly popular and are most often used by farmers and gardeners to protect plants from fungal pathogens.
Purpose
The manufacturer's instructions state that the chemical "Triafol" is approved for use against fungal diseases in grain crops, as well as in vineyards and sugar beet fields. Among the various fungal microorganisms, the active ingredient is effective against rust and phoma, powdery mildew and cercospora, scab, rhynchosporiosis, and fusarium wilt of grain crops.
In addition, the active component protects vineyards from powdery mildew, to which most European varieties of the crop are not resistant.
If the working solution for spraying is prepared correctly and the treatment is carried out according to the regulations, the protective effect appears 7 hours after the work is carried out and lasts for up to 1.5 months.
Farmers who use this chemical to protect their crops have highlighted several advantages of the product:
- The rapid penetration of the active substance into plant tissues allows the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms to be stopped within a few hours after treatment.
- Long period of protective action – up to 50 days.
- The possibility of using a fungicide both for the treatment of crops and for the prevention of infection.
- The active ingredient's high resistance to rain is due to the rapid penetration of flutriafol into plant leaves; even if precipitation occurs 30 minutes after treatment, it will not affect the product's effectiveness.
The cost of the chemical is quite high (around 1800 rubles per liter), but this is offset by its economical consumption and high effectiveness of the fungicide in combating fungal diseases.
Calculation of consumption
The chemical manufacturer's instructions specify the suspension application rates for different crops, which must be followed when preparing the working solution. The application rate calculation is shown in the table:

Terms of Use
The working solution of the fungicide "Triafol" is prepared immediately before treatment to ensure its effectiveness. The process consists of two stages:
- First, make a mother solution by mixing the specified amount of chemical with water in a separate container in a 1:1 concentration.
- Next, add water (one-third of the total volume) to the sprayer tank and add the stock solution. Mix thoroughly until the concentrate is completely dissolved, and then add the remaining liquid.
Spraying is permitted throughout the growing season—when the first signs of damage appear or as a preventative measure. Spraying should be carried out in the morning or evening, when wind speeds do not exceed 4 m/s.
Safety precautions
Flutriafol-based products are classified as toxicity class 3, so when spraying plants and preparing the working solution, take precautions—wear protective clothing and a respirator. After treatment, shower with detergent.
Is compatibility possible?
The instructions indicate that Triafol is approved for use with other antifungal chemicals and herbicidal preparations for treating crops.
How and how long can it be stored?
The manufacturer's shelf life for this chemical is 3 years. Store the chemical in a separate storage area, away from animal feed, and keep the temperature between -10°C and +30°C. WITH.
